In 2014, I had to buy clothes for my first job and hence I went out with my father in order to have his advice while selecting. My Father is a man of simple choice and usually recommends me to get the shirts stitched rather than buying. It so happened that in a fashion retail outlet we went to look for clothes and he gazed at a shirt of Van Heusen. He took out the shirt and gave me to try it out. It was an appealing indigo colour formal shirt. As soon as I wore it he said to put it in the basket. In days to come, I gave interviews and attended crucial meetings in the same shirt which did a lot in shooting up my confidence.
This particular episode has made Van Heusen as my and my father’s first and only choice in selecting formal shirts since then. Quality of products under ABG is of world class and hence makes it a natural choice.
‘How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far’.
Born in a family of defence personals, I always looked up to my Father, Uncles and Cousins. I wanted to be a part of defence force just as my relatives. I started preparing for my SSB interviews during the last phase of my engineering. I began working in an IT firm and started preparing for my interviews simultaneously. After five failed attempts at SSB interviews and almost three years into my job, I realised that I might not have what it takes to be a defence officer. It was a huge set back for me as I believed that I could make it. Although I was saddened, I believed in my capabilities of being a passionate and a resilient person. I accepted for a fact that not all the jobs in this world is designed for you however you have to give in your everything for what you desire. Rejuvenated with self-motivation, I started planning for the future and decided to challenge myself in corporate structure. I decided to pursue MBA in the same year and was able to make it to a prestigious institute in the very same year.
This particular journey of 3-4 years made me realise my potential and my outlook towards life. I am a person of passion and would continue to pursue it till the last even in the case of continuous failures. I believe that failures are important in life and it is better that you get them as early in your life as possible because only failures will make you to let go of things which were dearer to you but at the same time it opens up the way for something better and teaches you the most important lesson of life…. Change is Permanent.
