Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?

Aditya Birla Group needs no introduction at all. Spanning 34 countries, Aditya Birla Group is anchored by a strong force of over 120,000 employees, belonging to 42 nationalities. It’s the 3rd largest conglomerate in Indian private sector. Everything we see around us from minute things to magnificent structures there is ABGL present in it which you won’t even realize sometimes. To support it I would like to give an example of Vodafone Idea Sim cards and huge structures built using UltraTech cement. Adding to the list we also have well-known brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England which has a huge share in the garments market. The other famous products include aluminium, carbon, fabrics and financial services like life insurance, asset management, housing finance, equity & commodity broking, wealth management and distribution, online money management portal—Aditya Birla Money MyUniverse, general insurance advisory and private equity and health insurance businesses.

I am currently pursuing MBA in Bangalore. The presence and impact of Aditya Birla products in my day to day life is hardly different from your experiences. The sim I use is Idea Vodafone which gives me strong 4G everywhere I go. Born and brought up in Mumbai (Maharashtra) I have experienced a strong network of Idea in rural and remote areas of the state wherever I went. MBA, without any second thought we imagine students dressed up in formal attire! Yes, on special occasions and guest lectures we have to wear formals and I always prefer Van Huesen which gives tremendous comfort and lavish appearance. I have spent my entire life in Mumbai where the Bandra-Worli sea link is a huge attraction made using Ultra Tech cement.

How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?

Here in NMIMS Bangalore we face challenges every day and we are taught how to overcome them. But till I reached here the life was full of challenges too. Every moment in life we face some or the other challenges irrespective of our age, gender, religion, occupation, background, etc.  The most challenging situation in my life is to chose a specific career path and stick to it. I selected science during my HSC and then selected Engineering for graduation degree. We know the fact that now-a-days many people take up engineering irrespective of their interest in the field and this is a very common problem in India. The education system is not designed well to allow people to follow their interests and make them realize their interests. The number of engineering seats is more compared to applicants in India, so everyone ends up getting a seat in some or the other engineering college. Because of this after completing engineering many people remain jobless. Luckily, I got a job in Supply Chain consulting company and (not in any IT company) after completing my Electronics engineering in a reputed college in Mumbai. There I faced many challenges as I the field was completely new for me and it had no connection with the Electronics knowledge I had. There I learnt warehouse designing, network designing and many new concepts and theories related to the supply chain field. I had to work on huge databases cleaning, analyzing, designing the solutions and making presentations for the clients. Yes, for me it was a very challenging job as it was a direct switch from electronics to operations field.
