Part I

Aditya Birla Group, the name itself strikes a chord with almost every individual in this country as well as globally. It operates in around 35 countries and has a workforce of around 120,000. It has business spread across myriad sectors be it, chemicals, finance, science and technology, retail and fashion, insurance etc.

Personally ABG has touched my life majorly through its retail and fashion business, that is Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited(ABFRL).  Me, being a stout appreciator of fashion trends and fads, I have always been attracted to the fashion brands which ABG has and the styles they bring to the market. Brands like Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Hackett etc give us the right share of sophisticated clothing with superior comfort which can add a great value to our wardrobes. Then there are brands like Allen Solly, Pantaloons, American Eagle which cater to our daily fashion needs and keep us updated with the latest trends and fads. Brands like Forever 21 and Peter England serve our niche needs, one being a youth centered fashion outlet and the other serving our daily corporate-wear needs. Together ABFRL, under ABG has been a major aspect in my life and I have been always looking forward to their future offerings.

Part II

Since a young age, I had a keen interest in car designing and manufacturing. Designing was the art which I chose and I had my first stage experience when I was in under graduation college. There on I built a highly inseparable relationship with tools and machines. I have had several visions as a young kid, be it in school or college.

When I was in my graduation days, in Manav Rachna College of Engineering, I was appointed as the Vice-Captain of the car manufacturing team of the college in my second year. I had joined as a crew member in my first year, and grew up to be the head in my second year. It was a feeling of sheer pride and satisfaction, but I had a tough path cut out for me ahead.

Till then, even though the club had grown and performed well in different competitions, we were unable to build a core team. Every other day someone decided to leave and we had to get in new people. This was hampering the morale and motivation levels of the team, as well as the uniformity and formations in our routines for performances. Being the vice-captain, my Captain and I had to make sure that the team remains strong and intact, once we hire a fresh bunch from there-on. We started involving every member in every workshop, taking feedbacks and suggestions, giving them chances to contribute. We conducted off-the work bonding sessions so that the team got to know each other and grew as a family. Apart from all this, I made sure our fabrication and designing were strict and focused so that we grew as a team who can take on any completion around. Gradually we had a team who worked together, spent time together, relaxed together and if in any case we did not achieve the desired results, sat back and reviewed together. I felt that a team was being built and when I graduated, the team grew by leaps and bounds in the following years winning competitions across the city.
