My entire life, I have dwelled on this simple principle. Every decision, every action I take is an embodiment of the values that I believe in. Being a passionate, self-driven person I ensure that my candor is steered with commitment and perfection, boosted in the right direction.
Incidentally, I find my core values to resonate with a multinational conglomerate that I admire the most – Aditya Birla Group! The Power of 5 – Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Seamlessness and Speed are deeply embedded in every endeavor of the Birla group. From being the top-notch steel manufacturers to aced Cement producers, admired fashionistas to telecom providers; the company is praiseworthy.
With an International presence in almost 34 countries with over 130 state-of-the-art manufacturing units, the Aditya Birla group is definitely headed towards global business domination. Operating in multiple sectors, the company has made some significant contributions to our lives. From microscopic, carbon nanoparticles in tyres for better safety; to providing the core ingredient in building of construction masterpieces like the Bandra-Worli sea link and the Royal Opera House; from fabricating the Indian Railways with copper wires; to connecting the world with their superior telecom services (Vodafone Idea Limited), with over 92% coverage in India; to providing insulations for improved transmission and distribution of electricity; the company surely has some sturdy goals.
Clearly, the Birla group has made it BIG…a huge impact on billions with their array of esteemed products and services. Their consistent perseverance and excellence have always encouraged me to improve and thrive in my capacities to eventually make it BIG in life.
I would like to share a small, yet impactful incident of my life that tested me in every way possible. I was preparing for an MBA entrance exam last year in full swing. But, ten days before the paper I had a terrible accident and fractured, dislocated my leg. It was a bad injury. I was operated and implanted with a plate in my leg and was put on bed-rest for straight 6 months.
This incident shattered my confidence. I was dejected and depressed. It almost felt like someone snatched away my dream and all my hard work went in vain. I could not even appear for the exam that I so dedicatedly prepared for. It was a disturbing phase.
But as rightly said by Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, "Our values provide us with our roots and they provide us with our wings"; it was axiomatically impossible for me to give up just yet. I was determined that I will not waste my year and let my physical inabilities to overpower my mental capacities. One week after my discharge, I geared up and started my preparation for CAT 2018. I was in a pathetic state physically, completely bedridden and in tremendous pain; but I channelized it all to fire my fervor for pursuing an MBA.
With my core values in place, I finally cracked CAT with a 96.4 percentile and an admission in the coveted SJMSOM. This tragic incident tested me in many ways and has evolved me both mentally and psychologically. It reaffirmed my passion for pursuing an MBA.
I feel eternally grateful for the inspirational goals set by Aditya Birla Group, throughout the world, which influenced me in my tough times and helped me go through it all and succeed with a Bang! Birla group touches our lives in ways that we are even unaware of. And as a proud customer and a future businesswoman, I will always thrive to be as impactful and influential as the Aditya Birla Group is to the world and continue to jibe our vibes!
