Who said you get only one chance?

I don’t believe in the phrase “you get only one chance”. It’s all in our mind and depends on how we take any opportunity. Since we all grew up learning that the first impression is the last impression, even research has proved this, we feel under pressure and stressed in an interview or a meeting or on any place which matters. But I believe this is an old school thought. We have ample of opportunities in this modern world and everyone gets another chance to improve if they try searching it. Suppose, if I messed up the first day of meetings with the client, it’s always that I can work hard and improve to change others’ perception towards me. And, I think the one who doesn’t want to appreciate my improvement over time, knowing my efforts, is obviously a biased person and they need to change their thoughts. It may also happen that these people actually lose a good candidate due to their early judgement.

During my first term, I had an extreme fear of putting my thoughts while Class Participation or Presentation. One day in class while some discussion was going on, I told the faculty that sir I have this fear so I am not able to participate. Also, I have never been in any position where just I speak and everyone listens to me. He invited me to come to the front asked me to give my introduction. Many of my friends appreciated that it's very brave of me speaking about my weakness in public, but after this, I find many of formed an image that I am a very quiet person, won’t say anything. They started feeling, it’s okay if my points are not taken into consideration. These I realized mostly while working in groups. But these many months here, I have changed that perception among people, made myself a strong character which others cannot ignore anymore.

So, I think there is always a room for improvement and its okay to make mistakes as it will prepare you well for the next time.
