How have I overcame challenges to achieve my goals:
It was a typical weekday in February 2009. A boy was studying 10th class and staying in a hostel far from his home. His board exams would start in another 11 days. Its 8th day after his birthday. He made a call to his home and spoke with his mother and father. He was happy after that call. The next evening his brother in law visited his hostel. As the boy went to meet his brother in law, he came to know the saddest truth of this life. His father was in a serious health condition. 18 hours later the inevitable had happened. That young boy has lost his father due to a nervous breakdown. And that young boy is me.
That was the saddest of my life. I still fell that it was a bad dream. I spoke with my father 2 days ago and then I was crying near the body. Life is very brutal sometimes. It can turn upside down in a matter of days or even hours. I have never imagined a life without my father. But from then on I have to live in the bitter reality. I have taken my board exam after a few days and have passed with 91.2%.
But the lava of sadness which erupted due to my father’s death was burning me from inside even after a few months. It started to show in my academics. Then the strongest lady I have ever seen, my mother motivated me despite her own sadness. That when I realized and decided that I have to make big in my life. My mother made sure that I didn’t feel the absence of my father. I have decided that I have to give her a better life once I grow up. I have excelled in academics since then. I have got a campus placement in my engineering. But I wanted more than that. I wanted to a master’s degree. But due to financial limitations I have to start working. In have also paid the fees for my
sister for her last 2 years of her Engineering. We have attained the financial stability a bit. But the dream of doing a masters degree is still in my head. Because of my hard work I have got an onsite opportunity for 8 months in the firm I worked. After returning back to India I have decided that I was time to do MBA. I have given my CAT in November 2018 and now I am here in one of India's fastest growing Institute, IIM Raipur. I am proud to say that I am studying with my own money I have saved during my onsite assignment.
“Life is brutal sometimes, but it is also beautiful. The hard times will only make us strong”.
