My elder brother went to Dubai and at that time mobile phone was a luxury item and moreover making an ISD call means you have to invest in a lot. My father and mother had to go to PCO to make phone call and after 6 months my brother sent us a mobile phone and the first sim that we bought is of Idea and till date we uses that sim, through that sim we had various calls to our relatives in every situation and yes that mobile number still hold great significant to our family and that’s why ABG is big in my life.
Vicissitudes are part of life and even a straight line on Electrocardiograph machine means you are dead. The story starts back in 2015, I was in final year of my graduation and all exams went really good. The next step was to start preparing for entrance examination to get a seat in master course in University of Delhi for my favorite subject operation research. The exam was scheduled in mid of June, so we got enough time to prepare for examination. By working hard and by god’s grace I cracked the examination with all flying colors and aced personal interviews as well. The admission process went really well and was able to grab a seat in Master’s program but the whole scenario changed when my realized it was not my cup of tea.
Being into Indian society it requires of efforts to revoke your admissions from a reputed institute and to aim for something else. The same thing happened with me when I cancelled my candidature form there after attending few classes. The situation become gruesome as I had no plan B but sometimes it good not to have a plan because then your mind works in all direction and doesn’t constraint in one direction. So, I started applying for Jobs but again as B.Sc was all theoretical I was not getting the opportunity to work in the desired profile. When the going gets tough the tough get going and finally I made a cut with a start-up but as a sales consultant and being a sales is very tough you need to have on your toes every time. During my tenure with the firm I learned various aspects and insights about the sales domain and then I realized it’s time to make a move and yes this time plan B was in my kitty and it was to aim for an MBA.
Initially I started preparing for Cat but the efforts were not up to the mark and it took three attempts to break the threshold level and ace the process but again it was all worth waiting for as I converted IIM Rohtak and many other IIMs but I settled for Rohtak due to various factors. The journey was hell loads of learning from less than fifty percentile in first attempt to somewhere, where you will get call from an IIM the journey taught me various thing but the most important learning is be deaf for negative words. People around you will demotivate you, HRs will try to persuade you not to pursue higher education and society will try their best to hold you back from you dreams but just not listen to them.
Don’t focus on the goals instead enjoy the journey and when you start enjoying the journey the goal will eventually come to you and dreams will become reality. Change your strategy not your goals and yes you have got everything under your belt to become anything you want to be, just be generous and give it a try with full passion.
