It would be an understatement to say that Aditya Birla Group, a conglomerate with presence in 35 countries has had no impact in our lives’. The group has interests in viscose staple fibre, metals, cement (largest in India), viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilizers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services.

Since I got into my final year of graduation, and then into my first job, formal clothing became an essential part of my life. Their in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England and People as we all know are the top formal clothing market leaders in the country.  Other than their readymade clothing brands, their textile wing, i.e. Grasim has also been a part of my wardrobe for a long duration of time.

Once I started staying away from family, independent, I had this responsibility of getting all of my monthly groceries and other day to day essentials on my own. That’s when I became a regular customer of MORE. More is a retail store brand which was earlier known as Aditya Birla Retail Limited, when it was part of Aditya Birla Group.More is the fourth largest supermarket chain in the country after Future Group, Reliance Retail and D-Mart. More provides online grocery retail services in Bangalore, NCR, and Pune through its e-Commerce website MyMoreStore.

Along my entire journey of staying away from home, it was the Vodafone idea limited that kept me connected to my near and dear ones.

The biggest challenge that I overcame

Until my school days the biggest fear that I had was projecting myself in public. In short, it was stage fear. Public speaking was something that I could never imagine myself doing. Or to rather getting up on stage and performing anything was something I could only dream of.

After the completion of my higher secondary, I went ahead and joined an engineering college. In the very year I came across the theatre society of the college. Drama, movies, acting had always kept in excited as I had grown up my seeing my grandfather acting as a junior artist in few of the regional films and few soaps in doordarshan. Inspired by the artist that my grandfather was I went ahead and joined the society and started actively participating in theatre workshops.

By the end of the first year I found myself being part of one of the best plays that were performed in the intra college competition and getting accolades among my peers friends.  It was not only the fear of the stage but also the way I was speaking in public changed. 4 years passed by, I completed my engineering, went ahead and cleared many group discussions and interviews, eventually got a job in a multi-national company. With three 3 years of work ex, I decided to prepare for management entrance, after clearing the entrance exams, it was time for the further rounds where Group discussions play an important role.

Taking forward the earlier experience of stage and street plays, now I find myself in a very comfortable state when it comes to speaking in a group or public.
