Part A: 

A US $44.3 Billion company, the Aditya Birla Group is in the league of Fortune 500. It is anchored by an extraordinary force of 120,000 employees, belonging to 42 nationalities in 35 countries. So, how does a company with such stature has a big role in my life? The answer is simple, by catering to the demands of its customers. The ABG has myriad of brands under its belt. The one brand which is has a direct impact on my lifestyle is its fashion brand People. A fast-fashion brand for the youth, People is a one-step destination for international and fashion forward styles. Catering to women, men and kids, the product line is characterized by attitude that is street perfect and college ready. The brand offers the latest trends through its range of casual shirts, T-shirts, tops, jeans, winter wear and accessories. Changing the way, the youth dress, People focuses on making latest fashion available to all segments.

With a clothing range that addresses the entire family, People offers ensembles that are both classic yet trend worthy. With stylish cuts, prints and designs, the clothing speaks of attitude that is refined and fashionable. Bridging the gap between east and west, their fusion line is an amalgamation of global sensibilities and styles. Not one to confine to rules, the brand relies heavily on global trends to give you clothing that is universally appealing. Currently my wardrobe is full with its products be it casual or formal wear. Whenever I am short of clothes, I rush to the nearest People store to re stock my wardrobe. They provide great varieties of products at really reasonable prices without compromising in quality. That’s how the ABG plays a big role in my life.

Part B:

During my graduation, I was a member of the Training Placement Cell. I encountered a difficult situation when few of my batch-mates despite having good academics were unplaced until the end of the academic calendar. I was disappointed because we have tried our heart out to get the unplaced students placed during the academic session but due to certain complications, we were unable to get this bunch of 12 students placed. Somewhere within myself I felt that I was morally obligated to get these bunch of students placed and so I took the onus of getting the bunch of students unplaced even after the academic session was over.

I requested the college authorities to give me 2-3 weeks of time and allow the unplaced students to stay on campus, as I would like to bring few more companies during this period to get them placed. It was a risk that I took, but I knew if I could convince few companies to come to our campus, I might be successful in persuading them to visit our college for the recruitment. I knew I would have to face the ire of the unplaced students and the college authorities in case if I am unable to bring companies on campus within this extended period of 2-3 weeks. However, I worked diligently and with some luck, I was able to convince 2-3 companies to my college for the campus recruitment.

The risk that I took paid off nicely and with some help from the college authorities, we were able to place the bunch of unplaced students. This incident taught me a great lesson that you should keep trying tirelessly without thinking of the outcome if you are determined enough to make things happen.
