Aditya Birla Group sells in-house and branded apparel via the retail chain as well as online stores. It operates a multi-brand fashion retail chain called Pantaloons which it acquired from Future Group. ABG’s pantaloon has been my destination when it comes to shopping for apparel. It offers durable, stylish and very comfortable dresses. It is a “one-stop solution” to all problems when it comes to fashion. The best thing about pantaloons is that they keep in mind the Indian mentality, i.e. the products are decently priced and of good quality. The customer service is also an important aspect for which I and family go to pantaloons. The in-house brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen makes me look more professional.
Cement
The Aditya Birla Group’s cement company Ultra Tech cement is India’s largest cement factory which was acquired from L&T in 2004. My Family has a construction business. Cement is the primary element used in any construction. ABG’s Ultratech cement is used in all of our masonry works may it be buildings or bridges. The high ultimate strength, durability, and resistance against thermal cracking have gained our trust from our customers. This in return has helped us get good profits. Without ABG this would never have been possible.
Telecom Service
Idea Cellular, headquartered in Mumbai merged with Vodafone India in 2018 to form Vodafone Idea Limited and thereby became the largest telecom company in India. I have been using Idea service since the last 6 years and been never disappointed. The data rate is pretty cheap and the network coverage is very good due to which I am able to stay connected with my family and friends anytime.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
It all started during my engineering days where being a Mechanical Engineer my aim was to get into a core company and I was lucky enough to get a core job in on-campus placements.
“Vedanta Aluminium Limited, Jharsugda welcomes you”, the mail read. It was one of my happiest days in life but after I joined Vedanta and completed the training over there, then the reality struck me. The transition from college life to corporate life was not that easy. It was difficult to maintain a work-life balance initially. Although being a Mechanical Engineer, I was assigned to the Operations department where I had to lead a team of 20 people and make Aluminium. Being in the Operations department we had to work in extremely hot conditions, wearing lots of PPEs since it was pretty unsafe. I had to come in different shifts every 2nd day, the night shifts being the toughest among all. There was too much pressure, it was getting difficult for me to get spare time for other activities. There were times when I felt so low that I thought of giving up and resign immediately but then the thought of giving up used to hold me back, I wanted to prove myself that I can manage in any situation and soon everything will be alright.
One day I sat down and analyzed how can I manage such a hectic schedule. I called my father and shared my problems with him, he gave me a few tips on how to manage time from his own experience and asked me to stay calm and enjoy my job. I prepared myself mentally a lot to face these situations. I started to love my job, doing all the work wholeheartedly and then as time passed by, I got accustomed to my new life and then everything started coming in right places. I got awarded thrice for my dedication and contribution to the company.
