Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life

Aditya Birla Group; when one just hears the name, we know it is a big conglomerate, but it is not totally clear as to where it operates and how it touches our lives. But once we investigate the various companies and brands under it, the picture becomes clearer. From the aluminium foil that my mother used to wrap my breakfast for school, my first mobile no. of Vodafone Idea, to my first formal shirt from Peter England that I wore for my CAP interviews, this group has had a big impact in our lives.

But more than a direct impact, it is the indirect impact that piques my interest. Aluminium cans for cold beverages, the tyre that enables automobiles to run, the food-grade chemical that enables food industries to carry on their production and the cement in the country’s infrastructure. All of them have one or the other ABG Company behind them. This represents a substantial impact as neither of these industries have ever been portrayed in a bad light due to ABG’s dedicated approach to sustainable development. Most of the above industries are dependent on the natural resources derived from the earth and to make use of it but not exploit it despite the competitive environments they function in is a remarkable achievement. But this concentration on sustainable development has not stopped these companies from being one of the best industries.

This serves as a perfect rationale behind all decision and inspires the same level of dedication in everyone. This for me is why ABG is Big in our lives

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far

There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect - Ronald Reagan

I have always thought of myself to be an introvert. As a characteristic, it is not necessarily bad but there are situations where one must come out of the cocoon and interact with the world outside. This was not the case with me, and I spent most of my graduation happily inside the cocoon, with only a small group of people I interacted with. Now an entry into and MBA college shook me out of this inertia. I understood that by staying inside the cocoon I have now erected a mental barrier that prevented me from expressing myself and realising my true potential. Thus, as a deliberate measure, I entered myself into as many extracurricular activities and events I could possibly handle. But even this could not lower my anxiety levels in front of a crowd. But I persevered with it, not giving in to my urges to stay locked indoors, as my only intention was to break the mental barriers I had erected and be a person who could be recognised by his peers. Today, I can say that I have reached a position where I can successfully carry on a conversation with strangers without having already run 100 different variations of the same mentally. I still am an introvert but now this is no longer an obstacle in my path but only a part of my personality.
