I am a brand loyalist for the fashion brand “Van Heusen” when it comes to formal attire and also loyal for Vodafone telecom services. Almost every day, I can recall some or the other advertisements or real life incidents relating to the group’s flagship subsidiaries like Grasim Industries, Hindalco, Ultratech Cement, Vodafone Idea ltd., Aditya Birla Capital and other eminent brands in diverse sectors which all enjoy a strong brand awareness across the country irrespective of economic or any other factors.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far!
As quoted by Joshua J. Marine, “Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” It was the time when I was appearing for Class 10th examinations conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, I was a bit perplexed about the career path that I should take from there on. Eventually, I landed up going with the flow of non-medical stream in pursuit of being an aspirant for one of the highly prestigious entrance examinations i.e. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for securing admission in various IITs/NITs. My dream profile was a B.Tech. degree from IITs and then MBA from IIMs. Somehow, I was not able to score high enough in JEE and other eminent exams to achieve that objective. Then I decided to prepare for one more year and it proved to be a turning point as I was not able to concentrate on the preparation due to medical reasons which again led to the same result as it was in the former attempt. At last, I decided to join Ramjas College, University of Delhi for under graduation in physical sciences. I knew that there are a lot more opportunities waiting along the way and didn’t let my self-confidence go down at any point in time. I realised my strengths and the need of a specific direction along with putting in efforts which was a missing component till then. I started experiencing changes in my working style and attitude. From there, I went on to be the college topper of the batch 2015-18. I was highly determined to achieve the next target on the list i.e. CAT entrance exam to pursue MBA from prestigious institutions like IIMs. I succeeded in achieving this goal based on positive approach and perseverance which was an outcome that came from overcoming of several challenges.
