Traditional business houses did play a vital part in the freedom movement and have also taken an active part in nation building. One such business house is the “Aditya Birla group”; their presence is evident in the daily life of a large segment of the Indian population.
Aditya Birla Group has served India in various sectors and worked on products like viscose staple fibre, metals, cement (largest in India), viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services.
Their role in the ever-changing scenery of Indian cities is not only prominent but ever-present through Ultratech cement.
As the population become more connected the role of mobile phones take centre stage and telecom connectivity provided by Vodafone- Idea have great role to play.
They have played a key role in expanding consumer choice by bringing foreign brands like Allen Solly, Peter England, VanHeusen, Forever 21, Louis Philippe to the masses. Clothing brands I rely on for my daily wear.
There is a huge chance that the Pepsi Can I buy from the college canteen, or the aluminium foil (Freshwrapp) that my mother used to keep the food hot and fresh was processed by a Hindalco plant or would soon be recycled by them.
