Aditya Birla Group has managed to attach itself to our culture like no other organization. Today, we see a lot of footprints all around us when it comes to Aditya Birla Group, whether we see infrastructure around us, the clothes we wear and mobiles we use. Aditya Birla Group has set its roots in 19th Century itself and after the independence has contributed to economic growth and prosperity of our country. Aditya Birla Group after independence incorporated many businesses like textile and fiber, aluminum, cement, and chemicals. Among all Grasim Industries Ltd, which is the largest producer of Viscose staple fiber today was set in the year 1947. ABG jumped into spinning mills and industries, aluminum and copper manufacturing in 20th Century and today is the largest aluminum rolling organization in the world. In 2004, ABG jumped into cement business by buying UltraTech Ltd. which have a significant market share that its contribution in infrastructure is all around us. ABG group also have dominance in retail clothing market as they own one of the largest retailers in Pantaloons, and also own clothing brands like Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, and Louis Philippe, so they also influence us in terms of apparels and fashion style we acquire.
I have been serving Adani Ports, Dahej location and was looking over end to end logistics business and I was actively involved in looking over forward logistics integration and supplying the coal imported at our port by Grasim Industries Ltd. plant located approximately 50 km away from the port. Being the prestigious client, I have maintained great relations with executives in following up demand of coal for their captive power plant which powers the plant that produces the VSF.
Determination and honesty towards work you’re doing. These two things have helped me win over the challenges I faced in race to achieve my goals whether it is getting placed at one of prestigious Indian organization Adani, clearing my CAT exam with good percentile or getting into an IIM, my lifelong dream. And I am sure that these qualities will help me achieve my long term goals also. I was persistent about getting into an IIM and even though the family denied me to leave the job, I kept trying to clear through CAT while going to my daily job. I failed to perform in the first try, but I did not stop and continued to prepare for CAT for next year which brought me where I am today. Always keeping confidence in yourself during tough times helps you travel across the oceans of difficulties.
Other than the quality mentioned above I believe few qualities in me always help in tough situations or conflicts. Even though we believe in our stand, principles, and beliefs, we should always see the situations from the perspective of others. Looking at problems with others view helped me solve many issues and achieve organizational goals while serving, or even in personal life, be it a difference of opinion in life decision with family members. I always believed in being part of the solution rather than creating more problems. Being a team member always helps you achieve excellence in career and your organization achieve growth. We should create symphonies with the people of diverse skills to achieve a common goal just like Aditya Birla group joined its hands with Vodafone India take up against tough competition.
