It gives me immense pride to write about the third-largest Indian private sector conglomerate – Aditya Birla Group. The conglomerate has a global presence in about 35 countries and has more than 1,20,000 employees worldwide. The conglomerate is active in 14 industry sectors touching people’s lives and spreading joy with its varied products. The group is a national and global leader in various industries it operates in like carbon black, cement, chemicals, finance, retail, telecom, textile, aluminium, and mining.

Aditya Birla Group has played a major role in my life and will always be a brand special to me. I can never forget the first sim card that I used was Idea Cellular. Donning funky t-shirts from PANTALOONS and PEOPLE always made me look cooler and fashion-oriented. Wearing business formals from VAN HEUSEN at business conclaves and interviews made me feel confident and professional. I remember when my mother used to send me to get groceries and household items, I always knew the place where I could get everything under one roof at the right prices- Aditya Birla Group’s MORE. When my father was constructing a new house he knew which brand of cement to trust with quality and strength- ULTRATECH CEMENT.

Aditya Birla Group has impacted more lives than we can think of. The conglomerate has been actively contributing to society through its CSR programs. It runs medical camps, operates schools, and provides skill training to people. It has ensured the holistic development of society through its healthcare, infrastructure and education programs. This Fortune 500 conglomerate founded in 1857 has been serving society for centuries and making difference to people’s lives with its brands and products.

Rise above the storm and you will find the sunshine.

‘There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet’-William Frederick Halsey. I have faced many challenges in life and every challenge has made me a stronger person that I am today.

After my graduation, I got the job of an associate recruiter at a US based company Net2source located in Noida. My first day at the job was full of learning and fun. But destiny had something else in store for me. My happiness was short-lived as I met with an accident and dislocated my shoulder which required surgery to fix it and 8 weeks of bed rest to recover. I lost my job due to this mishap. I went into depression after this incident. I was completely lost and that was the lowest point in my career.

I had a strong desire to pursue an MBA and my sister motivated me to prepare for entrance exams like CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. A great challenge was that I had only 3 months in hand so I worked with all my zeal and dedication to finally crack all the entrance exams and I landed up at XIMB- one of the best institutes of our country. Now when I look back to the past year it was filled with ups and downs but in the end, I came out of depression which was a great moral victory for me and also cracking entrance exams in such small duration made me realize that nothing is impossible if you have faith in yourself. If you don't challenge yourself, you will never realize what you can become.
