Aditya Birla Group is one of the shining stars of all the Indian conglomerates which have made a significant impact on a worldwide stage. It has such wide range of its operations in the whole world that it is spread across 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide with a revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion in year 2018. However, ABG is not only about money but it also adheres itself towards sustainable development of the weaker sections of society and up heaving the country’s human development index. It has also set high standards for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by rigorously contributing to the social and economic aspects of the fragile sections of the society. So, in many ways it has marked a huge impression globally and helped in changing many lives and my life is one among them.
There are many day-to-day routine activities that link me with the ABG.
To start off, I am very keenly associated with Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Ltd. (ABSLAMC) as I along with my parents have many life insurance policies with ABG. It is a very tactical way of saving for your family which also acts as a security in various ways.
Second, ABG’s telecom venture Idea cellular which on 31 August 2018 Idea completed its merger with Vodafone India and thereby became largest telecom company in terms of subscribers and revenue, surpassing Airtel. It ensures that we have hassle free to and fro communication with our family, friends etc. In this modern world of technologies, the 4G internet ensures that we get uninterrupted internet connection which I believe is now one of the most essential requirements in our everyday life.
Third, being an MBA student, I know the significance of formal wear and business formals. ABG’s brands like Allen Solly, Peter England, Van Heusen and Louis Phillipe provide us a range of products in optimal price ranges. I vow all the formal clothing purchased by me as a courtesy of the Aditya Birla Group.
Fourth, UltraTech Cement India’s largest cement company. It has a widely used cement for various construction works. UltraTech Cement has been the solid backbone for the construction of many houses in India.
Fifth and the most important part being ABG’s measures in serving towards our society and country not only economically but culturally as well. ABG group has also established numerous Birla temples in India with magnificent and aesthetic architectural designs. Its location is planned in such a way that it can accommodate a large number of visitors. I have personally been to the Laxmi Narayan Temple also known as Birla Mandir in Delhi. It has an astonishing architectural design with a very tranquil and pleasant ambience for religious discourses. Its CSR initiatives in Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure and its actions in making model villages i.e. transforming the underprivileged villages with sustainable developments is indeed a stepping stone towards a better society and country.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
When I was a MBA Aspirant, the biggest dilemma I had was , will I be considered in any b-school as fresher?
I was from an engineering background as well, with no experience in the corporate world there was always a question in my mind, am I deserving enough to go for an MBA. There were always stories going around that the b-schools do not consider freshers. With all the this fuss going around, I still gave the competitive exams with all my dedication and just waited for the results. As the results came, I prepared accordingly and patiently. Then I started getting calls from the b-schools. I was nervous at first and a little bit short of confidence, but the I appreciate about me the most is the go for it attitude. The date of the interviews of the colleges was approaching and I decided, ‘If I have taken up this task, I am going to go for it with full potential and no fear.’ I gave the interviews and now waited for the results. Apparently, I applied to 3 b-schools and got a call from all the three b-schools. I was only then I realized my potential and it was only then my dream and aspiration to be a great manager was solidified. I took admission in the best of the options I had and here I am at GIM, goa and it has been 1 month since the programme started and I am enjoying the studies here and also getting to learn a lot from my peers.
This was my story of overcoming my fears and challenges to pursue my ambitions.
