We must allow ourselves to be adorned by lessons derived through hardships and challenges. The bigger is the challenge, the better is the opportunity. These are quite common in our life and I had also faced one recently.

Last year in 2018, I completed my bachelors in Agriculture and gave the Junior Research fellowship(JRF) exam to continue my post graduate in any esteemed institute. I was inclined towards doing an MBA after my post-graduation. But due to the Kerela floods, the results were withheld and postponed for around 2 months till October. By that time, I had started preparing for MBA as I was not sure whether I will get a good college in my Post graduation. While my MBA preparation was at the peak, the JRF results were declared and I had secured a good rank with scholarship in Kerela Agricultural University. My parents were quite happy. Messages started flooding from relatives and friends congratulating me for the achievement.

But I was scared as I was sure of cracking MBA exams this year and hence don’t want to do a PG. The most difficult thing was to convince my parents and I knew I have to do it.

I went to their room at the night after dinner and told with a slow voice that I want to reject the JRF offer as I was concentrating on MBA exams and it was my only goal. It took great efforts and courage to persuade them but finally did it and felt relieved. In this entire process I found out my strength i.e. self-determination and straight forwardness helped me follow my passion.

Finally, I gave the MBA exams and got calls from 3-4 top ranked colleges. I finally decided to go with my passion to join an MBA in Human Resource at Xavier University Bhubaneswar. My parents are also happy for me now. So life throws challenges at us. But it is finally us who determines how to face it.
