Walking down my memory lane I remember my first formal shirt and trouser that I got from Peter England showroom. Thank you, Aditya Birla Group for it. The list doesn’t ends with Peter England (hahahah), Pantaloons is also there. Now the start of my article looks a bit dull with common references, but it was extraordinary back then in Bhubaneswar.
I grew up with these brands and even now my suit for MBA school is from Peter England. Apart from this Vodafone and Idea were my connectivity providers during my high school days. The ABG group also has a significant role in popularizing exotic brands like Vodafone, Allen Solly etc. in India. The point here lies I have used nearly every popular product of ABG at some point in my life. I even remember ABG through advertisements of Ultra Tech cement, Vodafone and Idea. The impression of ABG doesn’t ends here. The bonding they have created with the people of India is remarkable. I wont go through the morals, values, mission and motto of the company because they are a way too popular. This is the brand value of ABG.
Coming to finance ABG is pioneer in small scale finance and Insurance. I remember this because I used to listen Wynk while returning back from office & there used to be an ad from ABG where a brother would have taken loan from a friend and the sister will ask who is your friend who gave you so much money for my marriage. Proudly the brother will reply Aditya Birla Personal Loan. Sister was still skeptical about repayment. Brother assures her that it is way different from other banks and the repayment is quite simple and hassle free. This itself speaks about ABG and the importance it holds among Indians.
HOW I OVERCAME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS SO FAR?
I always said my life was confined between flunking Mondays to being confident on Mondays. Yes, this is a very sensitive issue of my life and a strong point of motivation.
I have a rare problem with my vocal system. In India we celebrate this as stammering / stuttering. I was made fun of this defect in me and that is why I used to be absent on Mondays because in my school it was the day for activity period where speech and debate classes used to take place. With all hopes and confidence crumbled and dusted I somehow cleared my matriculation. I saw one day an interview with the famous character of Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) where he said , “I even stutter”. I was wondering if a person from such a background where he needs to speak then and there stutters and moreover he is one of the richest comic artist living then what was his stand on this problem. He shared something which had the ability to change the perception of stammering. He shared two methods namely over blowing & synchronization to fix this grave problem. Right from that point of time I started practicing those techniques and its like an art I carry with me to cloak my abnormalities. Finally , I am into management education which is quite impossible without speaking properly.I sincerely thank my mother and the almighty for providing me immense internal strength for overcoming difficulties in my life till now and also in the coming future.
