Aditya Birla Group (ABG) has evolved to create an impact and become a part and parcel of everyone’s life. Right from the houses we live in, the food we eat, the calls we make are somehow linked with ABG. Being the third largest Indian private sector conglomerate/union, ABG has ventured into the construction industry (Ultratech cement), fashion industry (Pantaloons), telecommunications (Vodafone-Idea ltd) and so on.
Established in 1857, the company mainly focused on cotton trading. In the later years it grew bigger and bigger and spread it’s reach to aluminium, chemicals, cement, textile and fibres, thus making a solid place for itself in the global market. ABG is a proud pioneer of one of the huge projects - bandra -worli sealink which was built by using one of ABG’s products (UTC) spanning 5.6 kms.
Pantaloons has become a regular hub for the people in India to go for purchasing clothes. The quality of clothing and the tie ups they have with various clothing brands makes this an apt place for all genders to meet their shopping needs under one roof. In the current era, cellular communications has obviously replaced most of our everyday hustles. In India, when we talk about cellular service providers and connectivity on the go it is impossible to avoid using the name Vodafone and Idea. ABG which owns 26% of the cellular collaboration, has enabled people in India to reach and use a widely known cellular service at extremely cheaper rates. People can now watch matches, their favourite movies, download games using their data services. Apart from these commercial successes, ABG has successfully contributed to the society even more by reaching out to those who cannot afford many things. Each and every vertical is involved in some kind of charity work right from medical assistance to providing education.
The growth of ABG and the heights reached by the company has not only inspired individuals but has also led to a new found respect for Indian companies and stoked a higher level of interest in the country as well.
The most important thing in life is to be happy- it’s all that matters. It’s evident that if we love life, life will definitely love us back. We can reach that state only when we follow our ambition and find the path to success. But, success is never a straight line, there are always bumps that has to be crossed with care. These bumps are struggles that has to be faced more with trust and less with fear. Embracing and trusting our barriers will actually break them to pieces and paves a beautiful way to reach our ambition. I follow three simple ideas to face challenges and move forward to reach my goal.
As it is said success comes when opportunity meets preparation. This might be a cliche statement but it exactly states the way to triumph. Plan and prepare as hard as possible because the more you give , the more you receive. The hurdles in between come and go but remember that we are never too stuck to be unstuck. We are still in the race as long as we can run and everyday is always a perfect day to begin again.
We as humans have adapted certain style of living and various plans to handle situations. If our plan fails in certain situations, it is not a wise decision to start all over from scratch, rather it is essential to make slight modifications to our existing methods that work in our favour, improve our end results thus enhancing the yards of success.
Competition around us has a rising trend both in terms of numbers and the fear that it creates in everyone’s mind. But I strongly believe the importance of competing with oneself rather than with the outside world. As once said by Abraham Lincoln “The best way to predict the future is to create it”. Therefore, stop worrying about the milestones reached by others and rather create your opportunities and make yourself a better person than you were the previous day.
