ADITYA BIRLA GROUP - BIG IN MY LIFE

Aditya Birla Group is one of India’s largest conglomerates with a history as rich and diverse as our nation. It has impacted every citizen’s life, especially mine, in a big way.
I come from Punjab and food is something that is very dear to every Punjabi. When I look back at my school days I am immediately reminded of the lunch breaks where we shared our food. My mother would neatly pack my food in “Freshwrapp” foil and she would trust no other brand. So, it holds a dear place in my heart and packs the nostalgia of my childhood.
Even now when I joined IIM Raipur, I needed to go shopping for my formals. Needless to say that you can’t go wrong ever with Louis Philippe and Peter England. They certainly pass the test of my father’s eyes who was more excited that his son was finally going to wear proper formals and not those “Chinos” that today’s generation uses as trousers.
IIM Raipur is a long way from my home and I don’t get much time to visit my home as frequently in the tight schedule of MBA life. But again, Aditya Birla Group keeps me close to them through India’s largest network – the Vodafone Idea network. Thank you for Aditya Birla Group for this gift.
Talking of gifts, I most certainly wouldn’t have been able to afford the 22 years of Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj without Aditya Birla Group. They have made fashion affordable and made sure that giving gifts to my sisters doesn’t leave me without my pocket money.
So Aditya Birla Group has been a part of me throughout. From what I eat to what I wear, Aditya Birla Group has been “Big in My Life”.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS IN LIFE

Doing my MBA from an IIM has been one of the biggest ambitions of my life. I feel grateful to have been admitted into IIM Raipur. The path has not been easy. My life has had its fair share of Highs and Lows. At the time of starting my preparation for CAT a big question was about the coaching institute that I should join. It was a choice between TIME (in my hometown Jalandhar) or Bullseye (in Chandigarh). TIME was a reputed institution, but Chandigarh was the bigger league. There was more competition and Bullseye had a better success rate than TIME, Jalandhar. Along with this was my College education that was going on in Jalandhar.

I decided to go ahead with Bullseye and enrolled in the weekend classes. Chandigarh was 4 hours away from my home and I had to finish all my classes and workshops there and then travel back 4 hours. Then sometimes I had to go during the weekdays for the doubt sessions and Mock tests. However, travelling in State buses is never kind to your back and all this travelling had left me tired and my back in pretty bad shape. If I told my parents about it, they would have stopped all my travelling and made me sit at home but I did not want that. So, I travelled despite the pain for a year. Sometimes my parents would notice that I was having some issue while climbing the stairs or when I would replace gas cylinders at home or lift something heavy and I would just brush it aside saying that it was a leg cramp or something. I started my own “desi medication”, watching videos on YouTube on how to deal with this pain, yogic poses and a lot of other stuff (I do recommend sleeping without a pillow, it really helps). Somehow, I managed to get through all the pain and now having made it to IIM Raipur, I feel that all the pain was worth it. It has helped me build a stronger resolve.
