Aditya Birla group is one of the biggest business conglomerates of India, with a revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion and the businesses spreading across multiple domains from textile to telecom services and from cement to financial services. As being one of the diverse business conglomerates it has touched the lives of millions of Indian, and I too have not been left untouched.
Starting with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, which owns brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Pantaloons to name a few. Whether it be a marriage, festival or an interview, most of my clothing needs are fulfilled by these brands. If I have to buy formal wear the first thing that pops up in my mind is Van Heusen and Louis Philippe. Brands like Pantaloons not only offer good quality and trendy clothes under one roof but also offers a large variety of clothing to choose from. Thus becoming my default first place of choice for all my clothing needs.
Now moving from clothing to telecom, Aditya Birla Group’s Idea was the first network provider which bestowed me the access to the Internet. I still remember the year- 2011 - when I was in the eleventh standard, and every friend of mine was getting their first mobile phone, and like my friends, I too got my first mobile phone that year. After buying the phone I had to look for a network provider, though there were a lot of network providers in the market, I was clear, it was Idea cellular that I wanted to be the network provider on my first phone. Because of the economical tariff plans that idea offers were affordable. Having said that my decisions were also influenced by the wellcrafted advertisements that idea used to come up with.
There is one more interesting memory which is associated with one of the brands of Aditya Birla Group for which I shall now move from clothing to cement. I was young and it was around an annual festival which was being organized in my school, wherein I participated in the sack race. During the same time some renovation work was taking place in my home, and there were sacks of ultra tech cement which were being used. I took one of the empty sacks and participated in that event. So Ultratech cement not only provided a foundation to my home but also ensured my participation in the Sack Race.
