At a personal level I am very satisfied as well as amazed by the kind of work this company does. When I hear Ultra Tech, I know we are safe in the buildings and roads that are constructed by it. Well it’s difficult to assess as to which aspect of my life has not been touched by Aditya Birla Group. But I am sure that there is much more left to explore. As a management student I would definitely like to be a part of this magnanimous organisation so as to influence the world in my ‘big way’.
Overcoming challenges is the key to survival
David Weatherford aptly said, “When faced with a challenge, look for a way, not a way out.” Life is full of twists and turns. It is our approach towards it that makes a difference. One can easily escape from difficult situations that they face in life. But the real challenge is to overcome them and make the most out of it.
My life so far has been full of up and downs. Whenever I had a chance to take a step further, life seemed to try to pull me back. During my 10th board examinations my mother had to go through a major operation. At that moment, with her life at risk, I had to face the first big challenge of my academic career. It was only through consistent efforts and a sense of responsibility that I could manage to pass with flying colours. Yet again after 12th board examinations, when I was having a hard time convincing my dad the importance of my education, a fire broke out in the only source of income. I was left shattered. But giving up was not the choice I could make. I managed to avail a scholarship amount of Rs. 35,000 from my school and got admitted in one of the best institutions of our country.
Being a small-town girl, managing with the pace of a big city like Kolkata was yet another obstacle. But if your dreams are bigger than your excuses, you can overcome every hardship that comes in your way. People generally choose their career on the basis of their strengths and here I am, studying in a management institute solely focusing on my weaknesses. It takes a lot of courage to come out of your comfort zone but as it is said, “You are only confined by the walls you build yourself”.
