Aditya Birla Group has been one of the top names in the Indian business scenario for the last 150 years, is the third-largest private sector conglomerate in India. What started as a cotton and jute-trading business in the small town of Pilani is today one of the Fortune 500 companies. The firm offers a huge variety of products and services ranging from fibre, metals and cement to financial services, telecom and BPO. India has gone through a tremendous change since independence and ABG has been one of the few firms who are shaping the present and future of the country. Institutions like BITS, Pilani are testament of the fact that both business and social development can go hand in hand. Aditya Birla Group is the world’s largest producer of viscose staple fibre and Grasim Industries was recently placed 154th in the list of the world’s best regarded firms. The Idea cellular network has provided mobile services to 110 million people and has connected physically unreachable places by the medium of digital connectivity. Indo Gulf Fertilisers reaches to 6 million farmers and 60% of India’s agricultural land to offer solutions from sowing to harvesting. The Aditya Birla Payments Bank is one of the most recent initiatives by the organisation to increase financial inclusion and provide banking and financial services to the rural population. The company has a strong tilt towards the CSR activities and has invested a total corpus of more than 500 crores in the last year as a token of giving back to the society. The presence of this giant-like firm can be felt in every working sector of this country and ensures the livelihood of more than one lakh families. The vision of the founder Seth Shiv Narayan Birla still reverberates through the actions of the group and the trust, loyalty and compliance of the customers asserts the same. The work done by this organisation, the people involved and the impact made has been an inspiration to many, including me. It motivates me to work harder and outdo myself.
I, myself have tried to do my share by being part on an NGO in my hometown for 3 years where we provided schooling and tuition facilities to underprivileged children and facilitated food to the old people.
I envy the values of the company as a unit and would like to inculcate the same in my life and contribute more to the society.
ADITYA BIRLA GROUP
Together they build, together they shine
Hailing from delhi-ncr region, one of my dearest childhood memories is a trip to laxminarayan mandir. Inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhiji and dedicated to shiva, buddha and krishna, the temple is one of the cleanest religious sites in the country. Jump 10 years forward, I got my first mobile phone with an Idea Cellular simcard. Newer cellphone models came and went but the network remained the same. The idea of IDEA stayed with me. The cost-efficient clothing at PETER ENGLAND has helped on many formal occasions including my first job interview.
