Part A - Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.
Aditya Birla Group is an Indian premium global conglomerate founded in 1857. With its presence in a wide range of sectors- aluminium, cement, fashion, IT and insurance products., ABG has touched and improved millions of lives. It is hard to find any Indian who has never used any of their products.
Beginning with the most important thing, my native home is built with Ultra Tech cement. All my family members have life insurance policies from Birla Sun Life Insurance. Being a girl who likes to wear all the trendy styles, I have always liked Forever 21, which is acquired by ABG in India, for my outfits. And then coming to a B-school, Van Heusen and Allen Solly have been my saviours for formal wear.
Mobile phones play a very important role in our life. The connection I use for my cellphone is Vodafone Idea Ltd. Comparing all the networks, Vodafone Idea Ltd stays one step ahead in providing the best connectivity. Staying away from family, getting the right speed of Internet and calling network has been really important and Vodafone Idea Ltd. fulfils that very well.
Consciously or unconsciously we all use ABG products and the quality that it provides in all its products and services is the reason that this brand has been living up to 162 years in India now.
Part B - How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.
There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.
Since school I have always worked hard to achieve good grades. I got into Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi for my undergraduation. During my undergraduation I realised that it wasn’t enough to just get good grades, and that you should be good at extra curricular activities also. Participating in events and extra curricular activities had never been my cup of tea. But I had the zeal to bring about a change in myself and so I started participating in all types of events that would come in my way. The start was very difficult as for me it meant to come out of my comfort zone. I kept trying till I started getting comfortable with it. Public speaking also felt like a nightmare to me, and I started trying my hands on it too.
After my graduation, I planned to do an MBA. I appeared in all the B-School entrance exams, but couldn’t crack any of them in my first attempt. But I was determined to do an MBA from a reputable college, so I prepared for the entrance exams once again, put in all my efforts and got an admission in one of the best B-schools of India, NMIMS. My extra efforts at overcoming my shyness during undergraduation also helped me a lot in cracking the interview at NMIMS. Then, my parents didn’t want me to leave home for 2 years and convincing them to allow me to achieve my ambition was a really difficult task. I finally made them to agree and joined NMIMS.
Thus, perseverance, hard work and determination helped me to get over with the challenges which I have faced in my life.
