I am an engineer, A Typical Engineer from a south Indian Family who just followed the path like everyone, a software Job in TCS after graduation.
I was willing to step into the world of business management even before pursuing my undergrad but because of the pressures of my family and the society I was made to pursue engineering.
And since I was placed through campus I took up job so as to get exposure in the corporate world.
Everything seemed to be fair and well in the beginning. My project manager and my leads guided me well and helped me learn a lot of new things which helped me accomplish tasks in a very strategic and efficient ways. Slowly as days passed by I got engrossed in work and I became one of the most valuable resource in the team.
I Achieved Best Employee of the Month
Our team got the Best team Award
And also I was getting numerous verbally day in and day out.
But what went wrong is amidst all this I couldn’t spare time for my CAT preparation, Yes my long term dream just went for a toss because of the situation I got into. I gave a very vague attempt in CAT 2015 & 2016.
Slowly I started to realize that I’m moving away from my dream, and also I reached saturation in the type of work, although im performing at my best the work became monotonous and boring.
I realized that I can’t crack any competitive exam with my work load in office.
At that very moment I went to my manager and asked to release me from the project.
He was startled for a moment as he didn’t expect this from me, but yes I just clearly mentioned him my aims and ambitions which he never knew.
He released me from the project which is one of the major decision which he took to favor me. He clearly mentioned me that he did so only because he saw my caliber and my sincerity. He also believed in me that I’ll be able to make it to one of the best B-schools.
And today here I am at NMIMS Bangalore
