How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?

I have always been a daydreamer and want to fly very high. In spite of being from a small town and a middle-class family where girls were not getting enough opportunities to live their dream, my curious nature to learn new things has never been stoppable. Since childhood, I tried my hands as a harmonium player, a singer, a Madhubani painter, a clay artist, a karate player, an anchor in Doordarshan channel shows and so on. I have always been hard-working and sharp-minded. After the 12th examination, I took a year gap and decided to prepare for engineering as mathematics was always my passion. I joined a coaching at my home town but when students along with me were far ahead in the syllabus and it was just 4 months left of IIT entrance examination that I decided to not to go coaching and do self-study. A girl who was not holding any rank in the coaching and started from neutral had achieved a very good AIEEE rank and that surprised my parents. I started believing in myself. Then in college, I was the head of the ECE department and the annual sports meet. I worked in so many projects including the ones at the national level where I worked as a team player and got to know about my management skills. But my passion for learning more technologies led me to join an IT firm as a software developer. Being from a non-CSE background in a group of people where most of them were from CSE background and topmost institutes, I had to prove myself to achieve the top performer award. I didn’t give up and with a positive attitude, I was working hard using my all innovative and creative skills. And there was the day when I was selected as a top performer and awarded with client-focused delivery as well. This reminded me of one saying that “Rise and rise again until lambs become lions”. And the passion for coding continued till the time when I realized about my good managerial and decision-making skills which aspired me to do MBA. These challenges and key takings helped me in my life so much that even having immense pressure of deadlines and working till late night didn’t stop me in getting into a b-school to learn more.

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?

The tagline of ABG, “Big in your life” truly fits into my dream of aspiring more. Since its inception, ABG has been growing in diverse sectors including cement, finance, retail, telecommunications, fashion and so on. It has touched not only my life but of millions of Indians either directly or indirectly. It is one of the major international conglomerates which helped to fulfill the needs of the customers in almost all aspects.

If I remember my childhood around 2005 when the construction of my house had started, my father wanted to use all the good quality materials as it was his saying that the dream of having own house is one of the biggest ones. And he was pondering over all the materials to be used, Ultra Tech cement was one of them. In childhood, I never get a chance to go for some branded outlets like Allen Solly or Louis Philippe. Generally, we were used to buying the clothes of these brands during any marriage ceremony. But it was the placement season which was about to start in my engineering college and I had to buy formal wear. I was so confused and not knowing to buy which one, my friends had suggested me to go for Van Heusen women formal wear. And it was a truly good experience when I first time wore it. A good personality along with knowledge brings utmost confidence in yourself and that helped me during my first interview where I got placed. After that, once I was in the job, my favorite place to buy any apparel was pantaloons as it has a variety of designs and I love to do offline shopping. Since I was in Gurgaon and whenever had enough time to explore more, I used to go to Planet Fashion at Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi.

Also one of the telecommunication product of ABG, idea cellular and Vodafone has always been with me since childhood. That time we had to spend a lot of money on voice communications and I remember that Idea was always coming up with great deals. That’s why when I got my first mobile during the college, the first SIM card was of Idea cellular. This is a never-ending story and finally, I can conclude by saying that “Make the customer the leading actor of your story and the customer will keep you making bigger”.
