Aditya Birla – One Family!!!!!!
The roots of the Aditya Birla group go back to almost a century ago before independence and its role in the history of India is tied with its political quest. Aditya Birla group has some of the other roles to play in every Indian’s life after independence. For eg brands of Aditya Retail limited Planet Fashion, Pantaloons, Peter England, Allen Solly, etc have taught India how to look presentable. Idea cellular connection has brought us closer. I have one emotional attachment with Aditya Birla Group. I was 11 years old and my elder sister was 17 years old, both almost in their teens. My father at that time was Marketing and Sales executive and was always on tour. Therefore, at that time we three were the only people to stay at home. One day, my mother had a spondylitis attack it was quite severe and we had to hospitalize her immediately. My father was not there and he would have come only after 2 days. Thankfully we were insured under Aditya Birla Health Insurance. We called on their helpline and they were quick to respond. They send their executive and he was there with us for the entire process till my father came. My father thanked the executive for his support and he replied that it is his job to serve his family and we are the part of the Aditya Birla’s extended family. It is this gesture for ‘going above and beyond’ that has kept me attached to this family.
Fear is a Liar!!!!!!
I started my corporate journey from Fractal Analytics through campus placements. For any graduate, who is joining corporate for the first time has two fears, ie, whether he will be able to work in stress demanding situation and whether he will be able to deliver set expectations. I also had a similar notion, but there was one incident that gave me the confidence to overcome these fears. While working at Fractal my manager had to travel to the US for some other engagements. We were a team of four my manager me and two juniors. In the absence of her since I was the most senior person in the project, I had to take all responsibilities like attending client meetings, coordinate their requirements, deciding timelines, etc. I was responsible to assign tasks to my junior and also guide them on technical aspects of the project. I also had to connect with our Engagement Manager regularly to give updates about the project. I adopted a flexible approach and took one task at a time. In this process, I was able to maintain a good relationship with my offshore and onsite team. Effective time management, taking ownership and building a successful relationship were the pointers that help me to complete all my engagements. Due to my project management skills, I was awarded the Star Performer of the Year award at Fractal. This incident helped me to channel my inner capabilities and allowed me to stay focus in pressure situations. I am thankful to my organization for giving me this opportunity and I will continue to use this experience for my future engagements.
