Aditya Birla Group is a multinational conglomerate operating in a plethora of sectors from fashion, cement, to Financial services, chemicals, fertilizers, and whatnot. It has a presence in over 35 countries with more than 120000 employees contributing to ABG's growth. The founder of the group was Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. He being a visionary with the support of his family created ABG a leading brand in India and worlwide.
I being a finance student was intrigued by the concept of investment from a very young age. I was very inquisitive about why a bank gives us the interest to keep our money rather charging us, what is the difference between a recurring deposit and a term deposit. Gradually I developed an understanding of how the financial world works. Aditya Birla Group has a strong presence in the BFSI sector and as a tax saving scheme my father use to invest in ELSS(Equity Linked Saving Scheme). After school, I scored well and got provisional admission from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. The fee was a hefty amount and a huge investment. We could have not afforded the fees if my father's investments in Birla Sunlife Tax Relief 96 Fund would have nit performed well. The funds performed extraordinarily giving around 18% CAGR return, beating the market benchmark. This event made me inclined towards investments, mutual funds and finally taking up a career in the field of finance.
