I come from a small town of Bihar, called Buxar. Located on the ghats of the Ganges river, Buxar has it roots in The Ramayana. It is said that Lord Ram liberated Ahilya from the curse of her husband sage Gautam Maharishi.
I have spent many mornings of my childhood days, bathing in the Ganga river and then running back and forth on the gaths with my cousins. I remember my grandfather telling us the various stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. A simple man, a Gaushala(cowshed) Manager, my grandfather was a man of strong work ethics.
He used to take me and my cousins to the cowshed. One evening when we all were there, an accident happened. Due to continuous rain and lack of repairment a wall fell down. Two cows and a calf was badly injured. It was a chaotic scene. My grandfather took charge of the situation and arranged a veterinarian quickly. Somehow the cows were saved but we weren’t able to save the calf. It was a sad evening and we all were still in shock.
There was still a wall to be built. The cows could not have lived there without it. My grandfather went to his men and gave them the courage. I remember my grandfather carrying the Ultra Tech Cement bag himself. Helping the workers in building the wall and sending us a smile in between. He was on equal level to God to me that day.
At end my grandfather said carrying that one bag of Ultra Tech Cement changed the whole environment. Made it positive enough so that we could go on.
A strength to carry on. This is what Aditya Birla Group is to me.
