Why ABG is big in my life?
Aditya Birla is a conglomerate that has a major online as well as offline presence. The products of this giant are present everywhere. It offers products related to fashion, food wrappers, cement as well as banking services. The group contains a big umbrella of brands and product lines which allows almost everyone to associate with the Group on a personal level.
I have a connection with Aditya Birla Group. The most commonly used product by me is the Freshwrap. Be it a picnic or a normal school day, there’s always food wrapped in the aluminium sheet which keeps it fresh and safe to consume. The wrapper is a major savior when it comes to transporting the food over a long period. Apart from the generic use of Freshwrap, sandwiches could be made and actually toasted using the aluminium foils I had. I would wrap the slices of bread in between the sheets of aluminium foil and then keep a hot iron on the sheet. Within a few minutes I could have a grilled cheese sandwich made from scratch without using a sandwich maker.
Further, the fashion brands under the Group also have a connection with me. From Peter England to Van Heusen, they offer a wide variety of apparel with different price ranges. Wearing these brands gives me a feeling of oneness with the brand and the smoothness of the cloth, the color options, the designs on the shirt makes the brand more attractive in itself and induces me as customer to buy more.
From Ultratech Cement that is used in the construction of houses to daily use consumer goods like food wrappers and apparel, Aditya Birla Group has everything. As a whole, Aditya Birla Group provides a feeling of unity because of its vast diversity in the products and the different price ranges that are available with the customers.
"Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path."
-Phillip Sweet
Challenges are a part of life. A life without adversities does not build a good and strong character. Challenges improve our resilience power and make us strong and independent individuals. They are as important as successes and failures.
One such challenge that I faced was the fear of public speaking. Having never taken part in stage events or otherwise, I was a person with great ideas but poor execution and articulation skills. It was in college that I realized that I need to work on this and improve my communication skills in general.
I started watching videos over the internet which mainly involved TED talks and Toastmasters and attending lectures in College which were related to the topic of public speaking. Trying to implement it was one of the hardest parts. The first few attempts were miserable but speaking in front of the class during the regular Saturday assignment presentations was the way forward. These 3 years of my College were the 3 years of speaking dangerously according to me.
As I kept delivering presentations in front of the class, I became more confident and started taking part in competitions as well. Being a part of debates and group discussions, I realized that with more and more practice I could convert this weakness into a strength.
Although the transformation from a person afraid of public speaking to a confident speaker was gradual, it did work. I was able to crack interviews and group discussions for various B-schools and got placed in my dream College- XIMB.
Had it not been for that initial push, I would have remained a scared individual who needs someone else to be their voice.
