As ABG describes its logo: "The bright, colorful sun at the base forms its solid foundation in a bolder and more forceful global version. The crisscrossing sunbeams connote the vibrant internal and external movement of energy. Like a prism, it refracts the multi-dimensional facets of our Group". Aditya Birla Group, founded in 1857, An Indian National Multinational Conglomerate of 38 companies spanning 34 countries and belonging to 42 Nationalities with a total workforce of over 120,000, impacts many all around the globe.
A part of ABG, BITS Pilani, made the most significant influence among all other contributors. In the midst of a small town, a college, with a rich culture and scholarly youngsters, blooms each morning to create something unusual, dramatic, and astonishing. A day starts with the chirping of birds and ends with chirps of students munching on night canteen. The BOSM, an annual sports battle, and the OASIS, cultural extravaganza, are moments when the campus is lit like a chandelier, a chandelier of ideas, show, contests, triumphs, giggles, and most importantly happiness.
I, one of the participants, was in the event. The journey of 5 days started with a late-night registration at the campus. At 3 in the morning, I was amazed, the college was on the morning walk, with the chill breeze, and enthusiastic cyclist circling around campus. We go to our rooms and suddenly a feeling of nostalgia born. The big rooms, with grilled antique glass casements, reminded me of a castle. A prominent museum, beholding Birla family artifacts, is open to all, who want to know about Birla's. From the day the event starts a whole new city was created inside the territory. The crowd plays new games, win some serious competitions, and eats food, specially brought in for the event. Although I couldn't take a bag of victories with me, surely a bundle of memories tags along. GOOSEBUMPS!!
