Aditya Birla Group is third-largest conglomerate in India, It has spread its arms from cement to textiles. It has helped the Indian economy in a number of ways. One which impressed me most is educational institute, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. It has not only helped students in making great careers but also provided employment to people of Pilani, and made small-town world famous.
This institute was a big source of motivation for me for a long period of time, as when I was preparing for the engineering entrance exam, getting admission into BITS, Pilani was my dream. It motivated me to work hard. Even though I did not get admission in BITS, the efforts I put for preparing was worth as I managed to secure admission in one of the best university in India.
The group has made a very strong presence in the textile industry and owns brand like Allen Solly, PeterEngland and VanHuesen which are giving stiff competitions to global fashion brands. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail is India's largest fashion network with over 11,000 points of sale, which include close to 2,500 exclusive brand outlets across 750+ cities and towns, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 4000+ department stores across the country.
In the past few, it has entered into financial services also. It provides services like insurance, asset management, housing finance, etc. In a country like India where financial literacy is a major issue, Aditya Birla Group can change the future of the country, as it can help people by creating financial awareness.
