Part A: I had always been a stout kid. It didn't seem to be a problem in my early years. But as I entered my teen years, I became more and more conscious about my appearance. Even though my family has always been very supportive , at the epitomy of hormones, all you seek is the validation of your friends and peers. It was a task to find clothes that fit me well. Whenever I went to buy a new pair of jeans or just casual t-shirts for daily wear, I was always disappointed to not find the right size for me. One fine day , I went shopping with my mom and we decided to try this new outlet of Pantaloons that had just opened up in a nearby shopping mall. I was exhilarated to find a Plus-sized section over there. I shopped my heart out and for the first time in many years , I felt good about the way I looked. Not only did I feel good about myself, all of my friends complimented my new wardrobe. This was a major turning point in my life as I started gaining back my confidence. I became more outgoing and did not shy away from making new friends. I also began participating in many competitions without any fear of being made fun of. The lack of shopping options had affected my life to such a degree that it had changed my personality completely. It was only when Pantaloons came into my life that I was able to get out of this whirlpool which would have definitely dragged me into depression. I have been a regular customer of Pantaloons ever since.
Part B: I had joined a prestigious MNC after my under-graduation. I was placed in a team which was on the decline. I was a fresher and I had to quicky get a grasp of things and contribute immensely on a daily basis. It took me some time to cope up with such high expectations but against all odds, I rose to the occasion. Things became normal after a while. After a few productive months, there was a major crisis. My team lead had been reassigned to a different department and the team was without any supervision for many months. Due to this scenario, my manager asked me to take up the task of attending the weekly meetings with our clients and provide them with updates. Not only did the workload increase due to the absence of one team member , but now I also had to keep a track of the progress made by all the other team members and make sure things were running smoothly. There were days when I had to attend client meetings at 3a.m. but all of it paid off when I saw the reviews I got after my first appraisal. I was given a 5-star rating and the manager had appreciated my efforts personally. I admit that it was not easy to juggle so many responsibilities at the same time but it gave me immense satisfaction when I was able to fulfill my duties. During this time , I also realized my ambition to enter the field of management. I appeared for the CAT exam and got into a prestigious B-School.
