When I was preparing to come to TAPMI, all I was doing was shopping, left and right. From clothes to go to classes or business formals and ABG was there everywhere. From Pantaloons to Allen Solly, they are omnipresent.
ABG is forever with me in form of my Vodafone-Idea connection. It is a name which is associated with almost every aspect of my life, it is one brand my whole family associates with, they are so widespread, it is impossible to not in come in contact with one of their brands or collaboration.
There is an incident which is really close to my heart and which brought me and my father closer, and which happened in a Van Heusen store, an ABG brand.
I and my dad were never really close. It’s not like he didn’t love me or anything but we were not a normal dad-daughter duo, who used to have fun conversations, all we really talked about was “Important” stuff. But things changed, Around 6 years back, I needed a formal suit, and I was really thin (Alas, can’t say that anymore), so I couldn’t find a blazer of my size anywhere, So I went to a Van Heusen outlet located in Delhi with my parents, and luckily I finally found my size. While I was trying out the suit, and when the trousers were being altered, my dad started looking for shirts for himself and for the first time we talked about how he was looking in those shirts and he actually bought the shirts i recommended, It was not something huge but yes, a step towards something.
And I still think of that moment and wonder how long we have come since that day!
