Aditya Birla Group isn’t big, it’s massive. An Indian conglomerate with over 1,20,000 employees spanning over 34 countries capturing that special place in Fortune 500. Why not? Aditya Birla Group doesn’t need to justify its position. I am a citizen of India and knowingly or unknowingly Aditya Birla touches every individual through their presence in a wide range of sectors. Be it apparels from pantaloons, a nice suit from Louie Phillipe or Van Heusen, a SIM of Vodafone Idea Limited or building homes with Ultratech Cement.

Before joining my B-school, I was working in an MNC for over 2 years. Being a Louie Phillipe fan even before realising it was an Aditya Birla Group product, I bought all my formals apparels either from Louie Phillipe or Van Heusen. Being a ‘Suits’ web series fan I always loved wearing a suit.

In August 2018, I decided to leave my job for pursuing MBA. Unsure of my decision I remembered a quote from my favourite series ‘Suits’, “You always got a choice”. When I got through the written phase I was nervous about my interviews, but I believed a suit is a managers’ best armour. I got a lot of confidence clearing my interviews. When I think of the factors that played a key role in my success, Aditya Birla Group also takes credit for that without question.

During my preparations and till my B school admission, I was residing in my home in Bhubaneswar. In the month of June, Odisha faced one of the most destructive cyclones in 20 years. Once again, ABG played a significant role in keeping our home safe. My trust for Ultratech Cement grew multi fold after we survived a cyclone without any damages. I am sure that ABG has made a difference for a lot of people around the world as it has for me. My trust for ABG as a brand grows every passing day and I hope ABG continues to have a positive influence in the life of a world which is accelerating to a better future.

Since my childhood I have been curious about life. I always love to explore new things. But I realised everyone is not gifted with a knack for everything.

As a student I graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. After graduating I worked for an MNC for over 2 years in Bangalore. My life was comfortable but deep inside I always got a feeling that I need to do something more. It was April 16th, 2018 when I went to sleep around 3 AM after watching a football game. At exactly 4:30 AM I checked my phone with 19 missed calls from my parents. I was terrified and realised a nightmare that very day. I lost my cousin and his family in a car accident that night. Rushing back to my hometown I was devastated. All my future goals that I wished to accomplish with my cousin who was my age was shattered in a moment.

Following the mishap, I decided to commit myself to the dreams we both had aspired for. I decided to quit my job to completely focus towards my future aspirations. After striving in Hyderabad which was an unfamiliar city to me, all alone, I finally realised my dream of pursuing MBA from one of India’s most prestigious business colleges. Now when I look back, I realise that neither my grades were the best nor was my profile. But if you really want to achieve something in your life, nothing but you are going to decide. After all, winners don’t make excuses when other side plays the game.
