I still remember that day, I call it the “Day of Sacrifice”. He was very happy to do it, willing to get that opportunity, proud enough to give his soul for his children.
Somewhere in August 2015, the countless days of engineering were at the verge of termination and we budding engineers excited to get a job in this placement season. Placement committee took care of all the preparation, made us ready for these interviews. We were all set to sell ourselves, however, there was still a room of concern. Apparel, one of the most important entity. The first thing to notice about you in the interview & thus people form an opinion from what we wear. Clothes help us to blend in or stand out. Well, we always have someone to take care of all this, in my case, it was my Father. Proud man to buy the first formal for his child, thrilled enough to see me in formal attire.
Pantaloons was the store where we checked in. How can I forget that day? How can I forget the happiness on his face, selecting from different sets of combinations? So happy with the colors, he preferred everything from that. Also, how can I forget those sad moments where he never wills to buy for himself? How he was carrying that same old shirt for months, same shoes for years & those belts for decades? I could see the happiness on his face, but also the struggle to manage each month’s budget. I could see the pressure of my father, satisfying everyone’s needs.
This was the day of an oath, the day to make the promise, the day when I decided how to make him feel like a king.
Soon the day arrived, and I knew the correct brand which could make him feel like a king. The brand inspired by king Louis Phillippe was made for him which symbolized elegance, class, status and gave him the feeling of upper crest as the tag line says. This was the perfect match for him & a proud moment for both of us.

This quote is a perfect proverb that resembles my last 2 years of MBA entrance exam preparation.
Getting into a Prominent B-School & pursuing my MBA being one of my ambition created many challenges in the last 2 years. Overcoming these challenges and achieving the dream doesn’t become reality through magic; determination, sweat & hard work is required.
It all started after completing my engineering when I got placed in a renowned manufacturing company. Working in the marketing domain & interacting with the postgraduate peers made me realize the skill set they acquired from their B-School. The way to solve any situation & understanding towards different domain was indeed impressive. This gave me a head start for my future prospects. However, life doesn’t give the fruits you ask for, the person needs to bow its seeds work towards cultivating it.
Balancing work life, social life, traveling time & study time was of major concern. In short, time management was the point of concern. Well, I did figure out the core problem, however, I will say it took me complete one year to fix this as I failed to crack CAT & other MBA entrance exam in the first attempt. I analyzed where I can save my time, for example, I shortened my lunch break, used the extra time to go through reading materials. I started listening to audiobooks while traveling from home to office. I figured where to invest my time, prioritize devoting on weak areas. I joined the library near my office, where I could go and study after my work & later travel to home, escaping the congestion period which ate most of the time. Pushed myself to another end where limit didn’t exist. This transformed my own ability to utilize time. The period was tough, I did sacrifice some important moments of my life to achieve this state, I could feel myself burning, whereas, now you can see me shine.
