"The smallest of things have the biggest impact in your life", this is a quote that is true for all the products from Aditya Birla Group that have been helpful in my whole life.

From the Freshwrap foils in which my mother used to wrap the food she gave me for tiffin during schooldays to the first shirt from Peter England I wore in my first job interview, the impact of the brands under Aditya Birla group has been phenomenal in my life.

During my under-graduation days, the nearby Pantaloons gave me access to brands from all over the world at affordable prices. The blazers and the shirt from Allen Solly I bought then were useful to me during my MBA interviews.

The impact of the Aditya Birla group in my life is not just confined to the daily use items, Ultratech cement manufactured by this group has been used in the construction of my family home in Bhopal. With the merger of Vodafone and Idea, the sim card from Vodafone that I use has also come under the umbrella of this group.

The diversity of fields in which the group operates is phenomenal and has impacted the lives of crores of people in India and abroad. "Grasim industries" which is a company of this group was launched just 10 days after the Independence of India on 25 August 1947. Today, this group has grown into a 40-billion-dollar corporation.

Today, almost every person in India has been affected positively by the brands and companies under the banner of Aditya Birla group in some way or other and I am no exception to that. It is its diversity of fields in which this group operates that has ensured the growth of this group for the coming years and it not just a journey of a corporate, but also of the common man in India together with it.

Victory over Challenges

Challenges are a part and parcel of life, and the strength and resilience of a person increase manifold when he/she overcomes these challenges.

Some of the challenges I have faced in this life are stage fright, rejection in multiple job interviews, and failure to crack the competitive examinations I have aimed for. Each of these challenges has made me stronger over the years.

Stage freight has been my greatest weakness since the 6th standard when my confidence was hurt after failing to speak in front of a large audience during a debate competition. It was in the 10th standard that I started working on it as this weakness would’ve been a hindrance to me in my future pursuits. By taking part in various plays and group discussions over the years I’ve worked on this and have been able to reduce the impact of this challenge significantly.

By the end of the final year in Engineering, I had decided to pursue an MBA after getting enough work experience for the same, however, my job interviews did not go so well and I was rejected in the technical rounds of 3 companies on day 0. The last company on day 0 of the placements was Accenture and this time I was more confident in my interview as the experience of 3 failed interviews had helped me in understanding my weaknesses, and this time I cracked the interview.

My performance in competitive examinations over the years is not something one can be proud of as I was not able to achieve the cut off in the JEE Mains and MP state engineering entrance exam. Eventually, I cleared the exam for KIIT and joined it. My first attempt at CAT was also unsuccessful with a meagre percentile. However, I was much more determined after that as this failure was a challenge that I wanted to overcome. So, I prepared for the exam once again wholeheartedly and this time I was successful to get into XIMB.

Overcoming the challenges mentioned above helped me become more determined and it is only due to this determination that I have been able to realize my aim of becoming an MBA student, also the strength I have gained while overcoming each of these challenges has prepared me for the future and its upcoming challenges in the pursuit of my further ambitions.
