Aditya Birla group has been a part and parcel of our lives from the very beginning. The set of diverse product range offered by the company is remarkable. The company caters to not only diversity in products but also to the diversity within a product as a result of which, the company is able to add value to the lives of each and every customer.
Aditya Birla group started as a Jute Manufacturing Company in 1919 and has been diversifying ever since, especially into apparels. The company operates a wide range of clothing line including Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Grasim, Madura garments, Peter England. Pantaloon, with its high quality and low prices, has been my forever stop for complete fashion.
However, I realised the true worth of the brand once I landed in Mumbai for my first college interview for MBA and my bag of formal attire got misplaced in the transit. Once I recovered from the panic mode, I searched online for stores selling formal attires and to my surprise I found two Allen Solly and one Van Hessen store within a radius of 4kms. Being new to the city, I called the store to get the direction and the store manager not only gave me directions but also suggested the route and mode of transport to reach the store. I finally got myself a set of formal attire with utmost ease and the best sales service. After this incident, I associate a sense of reliability with not only the product but the entire brand and prefer products associated with Aditya Birla Group whenever I need to make a choice.

Challenges are a very important aspect of life which motivates us to not only find our true calling but to also strive to realise it. Without challenges we would have no way out of the mediocrity of life and become better version of ourselves.
I, Shreya Biswas, am an engineer and like many others felt that it was a decision made in haste. So to make sure I know my aspiration, I opted to take a first hand experience of work life before I choose the right direction for my career ahead. I started working in an MNC which exposed me to corporate environment and team work and soon realised my inclination towards managerial roles. I decided to prepare for CAT and continue my job alongside to get a better perspective of the corporate culture which would help me understand the management curriculum better.
As it is rightly said, ambition is the first step of the long journey to actually achieving your goal. Preparation for CAT alongside the commitment to my job was not easy. After working for 10 long hours in office, I found it difficult to motivate myself to study for the entrance test. However, once you’ve realised what you really want in life, there’s no turning back. I joined a weekend coaching class to keep myself up to speed and develop a routine. Life became all the more hectic and restraining from joining my peers in all the luring fun and adventure activities was very difficult. To top that, I got assigned to a 24*7 project which made it impossible to have a study routine.
Even though at times I felt like giving up, I focused towards the larger picture and did not cut myself any slack. It all finally paid off when I got the call letter from IIM Ranchi and I knew that all my hardwork had finally paid off. Today being a part of this great institution, I am more confident and determined to achieve all my goals in future.
