The integrity of any organization helps it in finding the right people for their services and affect their lives in a positive manner. Aditya Birla Group is one such organization, which touches the lives of the general public more than there is visible.
There are a plethora of instances where ABG played a very important role in shaping individual memories and building a trust. The dream of building a home or to dress-up for an important business meeting, ABG is present everywhere, influencing the lives.
On a personal note, I have been the customer for ABG’s clothing brands for a very long time. The primary objective that anyone looks forward to fulfil is to satisfy his sense of comfort. The product lines of Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe and Peter England are fabricated to give that sense of comfort along with satisfying the styling and human ego, a very common trait associated with a product. On the other hand, UltraTech Cement, having a firm grip on the market, is the preferred choice of builders for making sturdy buildings that stand the test of time.
Finally, the amount of passion and hard-work that ABG puts forward in making quality products is reflected in the customers’ emotional connect to the brands. As an MBA student, there are multiple holistic key values of life that I can learn from the Aditya Birla Group.
“Every individual should develop his life to what is best fitted for him to do”
The greatest dilemma of life arises when there is no clear path ahead, but one has to move because life never stops and the struggle is constant. I do not have such a struggle that I expect everyone to relate to but on a personal level, it was a dreadful experience that taught me the value of life.
In May 2018, my engineering got over and there was a bittersweet feeling of leaving the place we called home for four years and joining the new job that would have ensured an initial financial stability and independence. Now, two days before I was supposed to reach Mumbai to join the job, tragedy struck. My father, a relatively healthy man for his age with none of the advertised bad habits, got a severe heart attack. This singular event served as the crux of so many decision making points that would dictate my whole upcoming life. Though the surgery was successful, it is my sole responsibility to take care of my parents under any circumstances. The first decision that was taken from my side was to inform the HR about the situation to get an extension of some time, but only got a small buffer period. It was impossible for me to leave in this situation so I lost my first job even before joining it.
As every coin has two sides, the decision of not joining the job came with the faith of clearing MBA entrance exams and make it into one of the prestigious institutions of our country. Once you take such decisions, there are factors that will try to push you to your goal or pull you back. In my view, my friends and family played the most important role in landing me in XIMB through their constant support, whatever the scenario. I also think that the most devilish battle that we fight is with our own self-conscious and the persistent feeling of failing and self-doubt are the worst enemies one faces. The primary weapon of warding off these enemies is the confidence that one has on himself and negligence, of the bad things that our brain perceives.
In the end, I feel very grateful of the decisions that I made during that time as it has landed me to a good place to learn even more. I sincerely hope that there will be many more challenges to face and to be conquered. After all a human being grows with his struggles.
