Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life

There are many companies in the world operating at large scales, but only a few who are considerate towards the social responsibilities. What drew me towards Aditya Birla Group was its contribution towards educating 46,500 students across 56 schools in India. Founded in 1857, it is one of the oldest multinational conglomerates of India.

As MBA students, we all understand the difference between necessity and demand. This demand becomes a commodity when we are ready to pay a price that is being offered in the market. The current demands of the population is insurance, financial service, telecom, shelter, apparel and Aditya Birla Group has business in all of these sectors with Ultra tech cement being India’s largest cement industry. Ultratech success has taught me that success in a business firm can be accomplished  by giving importance to innovation, sustainability, being customer centric and promoting team empowerment.

Apparel brands of Aditya Birla group like Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England allows us to groom ourselves to face the professional world at affordable prices. Pantaloons store is a regular store for youngsters like me. Vodafone Idea Ltd. has been a game changer in the Indian telecom industry. It has supported millions of people in India to connect with each other at affordable prices and has managed to become the 3rd largest telecom network in India. The ZooZoos advertisement have become one of the most awaited ads during the ipl premier season.

Aditya Birla Group is an example for all MBA students like me who can learn from their accomplishments across various fields. Its success in marketing, catering to social responsibilities, delivering superior value to customers, shareholders and the society at large has helped India to compete in the International market. It motivates young professionals like me to take up a path we believe in and strive hard to do the best.

How you Overcame your challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far

Multi-tasking with short deadlines has always been difficult for me. During my tenure at working in a corporate organization, a client suddenly wanted to change an entire account and submit within two days. This was not possible to be completed within the 9 hours of a working day as I was working on other projects parallelly. Working from home post office meant sacrificing my study hours for MBA entrance exams. The increase in work pressure and inability to multi-task led to set back with my MBA preparations. The reason for my failure was improper time management. With the increase in workload from my office, I started getting accustomed to handling pressure situations in an efficient way and allotted time for all my day to day activities and abided by them religiously. This has helped me improve my multi-tasking ability and I wish I will be able to use it to the best of my abilities during the 2 year MBA program.
