Aditya Birla Group is one of fortune 500 companies and India’s largest conglomerates. After reading the question about the impact of Aditya Birla Group in my life, I started recollecting my memories and I was surprised that I have been buying different brands of Aditya Birla Group till now.

The very first product I came across was Ultratech Cements. I have an emotional connect with this product as our first home was built with ultra tech cements. I came to know Ultra Tech cements was a product of Aditya Birla Group much later. From Ultratech Cements to Taking a life insurance policy everything has been Birla for me. I still remember that Idea sim was my first sim card and I remember dragging my father’s hand to the idea store after watching Idea’s Walk and Talk advertisement in television.

I remember the monthly outings my parents used to take me. We first used to go to Pantaloons where I used to buy my attires for festivals and special occasions, Then to More Mega store where we bought groceries and return home.

During my graduation, I was in need of a formal suit for a formal event. That’s when I visited the Peter England store and bought my first formal suit. I feel majestic each and every time.

Apart from business, Aditya Birla Group has also been extensively involving itself in Corporate Social Responsibility activities. To quote some statistics, they have helped immunize 70 million children against polio over the last 7 years and have set up multi skill training centers for the youth across India.

I would like to conclude this article by explaining about my Tagline “All in All Benevolent Group” which goes as follows-

“All in All,”- Aditya Birla Group has set its foot across various market segments and an industry leader in most of the market segments

“Benevolent Group”- Socially responsible group

(B) Overcoming Challenges

How I made it to my dream college

Let me begin by saying that I am average student and not that great in academics. I used to score well in my subjects till 8th standard and find a place among the top 5 of my class. When I reached 10th I got overshadowed by overconfidence and failed in a lot of exams conducted at school levels. I was stereotyped as a weak performer by my class mates and teachers. I remember my teachers saying to my juniors at school “Study well and Don’t be like Mrithunjay”. With all these incidents circulating inside my mind, I felt demotivated, depressed and lost hope. I cleared my 10th with average marks and felt humiliated about my board performance and also for putting my parents into a very depressing situation. The school management denied me science specialisation on account of my weak performance. I had to choose commerce specialisation as I had no other choice

I decided to forget my past and with a motivated and determined mindset, started pursuing the Higher Secondary course. One beauty about commerce specialisation is you won’t have to break your head with formulas and it will be easy for a student to relate concepts with practical examples. I started being attentive in classes, related learnt concepts with practical examples, participated in class during discussions, solved problems and studied concepts with a never die attitude. I used to say to myself, “don’t leave your seat, until you understand this concept fully”

I was clueless about how I am going to take my life forward. I was in a dilemma of which college I would join once I complete my board examinations. That’s when I read an article about Shri Ram College of Commerce in India today which read “SRCC, one of the premier and dream colleges for many students and the high standards has set a cut off of 98%”

At that moment, I decided that I want to be part of Shri Ram College of Commerce. I started preparing aggressively for my boards, and cleared them with flying colours.

I still remember the day when SRCC released their cut off. When I saw my name mentioned in the cut off list, tears came rolling down as I couldn’t believe mys elf that I had made to SRCC. I went to a secluded spot and shouted like a maniac.!!

Hard work, Perseverance had finally paid off.!!
