Why Aditya Birla group is big in your life?
Aditya Birla Group has always been an integral part of my life in some way or the other. The first thing that strikes my mind when I think of ABG is More. I am from Visakhapatnam and as of my knowledge, there are over 12 More stores there. The best thing is that there is a More store right in front of my residence. Be it edibles or utilities, I can get everything from the More store. I used to take an evening walk to More after every three days to buy the household and cooking necessities. The sheer quality of More vegetables, fruits, semolina, and spices just amazes me. The dry fruits are always fresh and delicious. I can hardly remember a time when I had to walk out of the store without finding the item in my list.
In the year 2013, my father started constructing our own apartment. I used to visit the site frequently envisaging in my mind, the big concrete structure that was going to be constructed on that empty site of land. The most reminiscent memories of those early days of construction were the hundreds of yellow-colored UltraTech cement bags.
Whenever I see an upcoming festival on the calendar, my mind revolves around the thought of buying a new pair of clothes. “Which colors?”, “What combination of pairs?”, “Linen or Pure Cotton?”. Millions of questions running in my mind. But, one question needs no answers. “Where can I go to find such varieties?”. Obviously, Pantaloons.
In my wardrobe, the only brands I find are Allen Solly, Peter England or Louis Philippe. Still, my collection is not par when I compare to that of my group of friends. They are crazy about Skult and VanHeusen. This surprised me how the ABG products influenced not only me but everyone around me.
Finally, my all-weather companion, my mobile, has Vodafone Idea sim in it, which always keeps my mobile active even when I am traveling in the remotest of the areas. The signals are outstanding. My mobile still rings reminding me that it is alive and along with me, whereas my other companions feel envious looking at me, as their phones can’t do much apart from displaying time. I can even access my net, watch cricket matches and most importantly talk to people sharing my amazing experiences.
Such is the impact of the Aditya Birla Group products and services on my life. ABG is just not another company for me. It is an emotion.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
At times, it felt like a roller coaster ride but in a nutshell, my life till now felt like an upward slope, just like that of Giffen goods.
During my schooling days, I was always shy and struggled to be a social person. I hesitated to participate in any competitions or activities. Though I was a jack of all trades, I was not perfect in any of them. Though I learned tennis, cricket, roller skating, painting and keyboard I was not confident in my own skills. I also had the fear of participating in front of people. The sad part was that my academics were also dipping year by year. After my XIIth, when I looked back at my journey so far, I did not have a single proud moment nor any achievement to cherish upon.
That was the moment I strongly took a decision that I was going to give my 100 percent in as many activities as possible and start taking responsibilities. I learned that I had to step out of my comfort zone and face the world. As soon as I joined my graduation, I took up the responsibility of the Class Representative. I started actively participating in all the activities and events. I organized several cultural and sports events. I earned the reputation of being a social person and a good communicator. I even served as the Placement Coordinator during the final year of my graduation. Responsibilities made me a confident and accomplished person. My grades during my graduation were also decent and ended up among the top 5% in our department. The same positivity had continued along with my corporate life with good relations and experiences.
When I look back at my life, I realized that I would not have achieved any of these things if I would have lost trust in myself. It is never too late. I learned that life always provides us opportunities to correct ourselves, given that we accept reality, step out of our comfort zone and work hard to achieve what we want.
