As time passed, I started knowing more about the company. The more I knew, the more awestruck I was, by the diversity of the group. It was mind-boggling to know that each brand that I love, most of the products that I used were all from the Aditya Birla Group family. My Uncle was a civil contractor and I have heard a lot from his mouth regarding UltraTech Cement. He was greatly impressed by the quality of the cement. He always insisted others to use Ultra Tech cement during house construction. Pantaloons was the first mall that came to our city. It was like a ritual for my family to visit the mall once every two days. We used to buy all our clothes from Pantaloons during festivals. Aditya Birla Life and Health insurance protected my family from unexpected life emergencies. The Aditya Birla group is committed to the upbringing and welfare of Indian people with special focus on the culture and heritage preservation. It is committed to delivering high-quality products to consumers and adding value to society in general.
Aditya Birla Group has given a lot to the society. Be it employment opportunities, consumer choices, or education opportunities, etc. My brother did his under graduation from BITS Pilani, one of the most prominent engineering colleges in India has Kumar Mangalam Birla as its Chancellor. Needless to say, Aditya Birla Group has helped my family in so many different ways. Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Pantaloons, Peter England, Ultra tech Cement, Van Heusen are some of the brands that are well known and trusted by the people. Corporate Social Responsibility is very close to the Aditya Birla Group.
For me as an individual, ABG has provided the opportunity to not compromise on quality and has set the benchmark against which I would compare the products that I would use in my daily life. It has changed my life dramatically.
HOW I OVERCOME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITION IN LIFE
Challenges are part and parcel of an Individual life. A man faces many challenges in his journey from a small child living in the shade of his mother to a grown independent man earning bread and butter for his family. Most of the time he doesn’t even realise that he is facing so many challenges to make things steady and life easier. This is indeed a well-known fact. Every one of us faces challenges each day in our mundane work routine. Some of us have experienced more challenges than others by virtue of their upbringing, the financial conditions of parents, the place where they live, etc.
I think the biggest challenge that I faced in my life was when I was changing my job. I always wanted to have an overall exposure of how businesses worked. In the process, I quit my job at a multinational mining company and decided to switch over to a relatively different profile but extremely enriching position. I started working as a multi-site Business Manager for an EdTech company. I was hired as a business development manager and was responsible for overseeing the business strategy & operations for six locations in North East India. My responsibility included selection, management, and motivation of operations and marketing teams working in these locations. It was all a one-man show to handle. Switching from an Industry-based life to a front end b2c platform of a completely different organization, things were different. They were all new to me at the beginning and I was losing control over the entire process. I was going through an extremely frustrating phase in my life. After some time, I decided to talk to my boss regarding the issue. My boss was based out of Hyderabad and he used to come to the northeast once in a week. One fine morning I decided to take this matter to him. I was a bit scared of the consequences. I told my boss everything regarding the issues I was facing, regarding the location constraint, language barrier everything. My Boss suggested me to take a two-day break and think with a positive mindset and never lose hope. His words calmed me from inside and I was filled with determination and passion to perform. Within a short period with the proper guidance of the Senior Management and my hard work. I was able to handle the role quite smoothly.
So, this was my greatest life experience so far.
