Each and everyone of us are working hard to achieve our goal. We tend to put a lot of dedication and hard work towards the same. But throughout this journey what becomes very important is at what degree do we have an impact on others and what role do we play for the society. That’s when Aditya Birla Group comes to my mind, India’s biggest conglomerate and globally the 4th biggest conglomerate. Operating in total 34 countries with 1,20,000 employees, Aditya Birla Group has not only spread all over the world but it surely has touched many lives.
From packing my food with aluminium foil (Hindalco Freshpakk) to building a house (from Ultratech Cement), Aditya Birla Group has played a very crucial role. Now that’s the beauty of Aditya Birla Group, it’s all around us. It caters to the needs of each and every section of people for varied sectors of Industry.
With the advancements of technology at a very high speed, Aditya Birla Group doesn’t seem to disappoint us in this field too. For instant payment of my electricity bills and easy movie booking. I have used one of Aditya Birla Payments Bank's (ABPB) features, BHIM ABPB UPI. Getting work done at just ‘one click’ has made tiresome procedures way more smooth and easy.
While pursuing my MBA and getting a taste of how corporate world works, having a proper business attire has been a very small but important aspect of the same. Getting my business attire to the point, Aditya Birla Group Fashion and Retail Ltd. has helped in making such choices for me. VanHeusen being the major contributor for self-grooming.
Lastly, the Corporate Social Responsibility cell of Aditya Birla Group contributed in inculcating social and emotional values within me. Its initiatives in the field of Healthcare, Education, Livelihood etc. has helped in maintaining the sustainability of the society we are living in. Aditya Birla Group has left no leaf un-turned.
Remembering it as if it were yesterday
Challenges create room for high growth and strong belief in oneself. All the eminent leaders are at such a position not just because they “Lead” a team or a firm but they faced numerous challenges which brought the best out of them to achieve one common goal.
The most significant challenge for me has not been a particular one, but a generic one, i.e., getting over "The fear of isolation". It not only pulls down the confidence of a person but also tends to cease the growth and exposure of a person. This particular fear started to make a home inside my mind when I was a child. Since, my father works for Indian Railways, shifting to many cities and changing many schools became a crucial part of my life. Adjusting with different kinds of people, started creating problems for me. Since, I had to enter into existing groups, making a good ‘first impression’ became a big challenge for me. But I failed in doing so as I used to feel isolated from the very first point itself. I felt rejected and because of which I became under-confident. But over time I became tired of feeling dejected, and because of that tiredness I started looking towards the other side of such experiences.
Failure is the biggest lesson one could ever get. It can be said in my case that over time the number of failure received became proportional to a huge growth (both intellectually and emotionally). I started analysing the loop holes from my part and started working on the same. I gradually acquired the art of filtering the kind of responses I got from various kinds of people. I started to distinguish between the ones who intentionally pulled me down and the ones who were indifferent of my presence at the first place but gave me a chance to make a point or an image of my own. The very important lesson learnt was that, "Challenges acts as an catalysing agent for success".
