Why is Aditya Birla Group big in my life?
Aditya Birla group, a brand so big yet it was there somehow with us in one or the other way since we were so little. The group was founded in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. Quite obviously, the group has put in a lot of time, effort and dedication to make it what it is today. The result of 162 years of effort which is that it's currently operating in 35 countries getting India the recognition on a global level.
Aditya Birla group has many subsidiaries like UltraTech Cement, Grasim Industries, Aditya Birla Capital, Vodafone idea, pantaloons fashion and Retail etc. which is like one big joint family. I was in the 5th class when the foundation of my new house was laid. Seeing it built brick after brick in front of my eyes was so overwhelming. Here as well the “UltraTech Cement” played the role of sticking the bricks together much like the groups' ideology. It took one and a half years for my house to be completed. Building one’s own house is a very emotional event for an Indian.
The idea is one of the companies under the Aditya Birla group. When I got my mobile phone, Idea's network helped me to connect with my family and friends, especially when I was staying away from home. Every person in my family has an idea SIM card. The network has the biggest users once later on, it had lost its users. When the news of the Idea Cellular being merged with Vodafone India broke, it again taught me to how important it is to take tough decisions in the critical times and that the power of coexistence and common understanding shouldn’t be underestimated. Now the idea is network having the largest number of users in India surpassing Airtel.
These learning from Aditya Birla Group played a great role in instilling the values in me and making me the person who I am. And I believe, the organization so big will continue to thrive and inspire me.
