Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest conglomerates in India. They have been my biggest inspirations to enter the world of business.
Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
We wake up in the morning and we are surrounded by products from India’s third-largest conglomerate, Aditya Birla Group. We see buildings, they are made with UltraTech cement, we wear clothes which can be shopped in Pantaloons, we speak on the mobile phone whose biggest subscriber base is with Vodafone Idea Cellular, the India we live is full of brands owned by Aditya Birla Group. Aditya Birla Group operates in 35 countries and that is a matter of pride for me.
Brand India and its worldwide representation have always been a matter close to my heart. I have always cherished companies that represented India on a global scale. Aditya Birla Group has brought several foreign brands through joint ventures or partnerships in India, this has increased the exposure of our country to global brands. Today, ABG is on a growth path which will lead to more opportunities for India. ABG is a huge employer in our country, which leads to them being a very significant contributor and a catalyst for growth in India.
CSR initiatives undertaken by Aditya Birla Group has paved way for the other conglomerates to follow. The CSR closest to my heart would be where ABG supports women, self-help groups, to make ‘urja’ lamps and supply them to needy schools. They have had significant work done in rural areas in the field of healthcare, education, infrastructure, and sustainable livelihood requests. They own schools in India and provide 500 scholarships to high performing students to seek higher education.
For me, Entrepreneurs and/or such business who show such growth in a country with such diverse portfolio have always been very inspiring. They make me want to improve and grow. They show us that it is possible to challenge the big corporate houses in the world. Hence, the Aditya Birla Group is big in my life.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was my bout with depression. After my engineering, I had entered the world of industry. I had average marks in my graduation which led to me having limited opportunities. All this led to me being dissatisfied with my current situation. During this tumultuous time, I had an accident which led to me being on bed rest for 15 days. I had lost the job I had secured. I was on pain killers for a long time, all this slowly pushed me into depression.
However, after a while, I realized that It was time for a change. I started getting interested in sales and marketing as a profession. Hence, I started working for a welding machine manufacturer in the sales and marketing department. I worked hard and diversified my skill set to grow myself. I felt something amiss, I felt that my knowledge was limited in that field and MBA was a way by which I can achieve my dreams and goals. So, I worked hard and achieved 97.27 percentile in CAT, this was a huge moment of reflection for me.
I had similar challenges during my engineering when I was handling the cultural festival of my college. There were several problems with the execution and issues that came up during the preparation. I successfully dealt with all those problems with hard work, patience, and trust in my fellow organizers.
The conversion of my first customer into a regular customer has also been a great challenge for me. I realized how inexperienced I was, and that I had a lot of learning to do. Every visit, every customer interaction showed me that there was always something to be learnt. Learning is a continuous and life-long process. Every challenge I faced during my work life has always been overcome by keeping an open mind and learning.
I realized that true hard work, diligence, perseverance, and strong mental strength can take us along and help us achieve anything we want. Till the day we learn, we evolve, and we overcome.
