“True friends never leave your side”. This is the best quote to represent my relation with Aditya Birla Group. It has transformed my life for the good throughout my journey. With more than 1,20,000 workforce worldwide and operations in 35 countries depict the vast global extent of ABG. Operating in 14 different industries ranging from fashion, retail, telecom, carbon, steel, etc; ABG highly influences the lifestyle of the public of our country and the others also.
I still remind myself of the day when I first bought formal wear for a function in college, from Allen Solly and Louis Phillipe. It was my favorite destination for apparel from there on. I was always attracted by the varied collection of ethnic wear from Pantaloons offered by ABG. Right from my childhood, I am a huge fan of departmental stores like DMart where we can choose and pick our favorite consumer goods at our own convenience. But lack of DMart in the vicinity of my home made me search for other options and luckily, More supermarket emerged as a boon to me. Ever since it has been helping me in the purchase of my daily consumption products.
Aditya Birla Group had indirectly affected my career growth when I got an admission into BITS Pilani. Founded by G.D.Birla, this institute played a huge role in molding my personality and it was the one who imbibed leadership skills in me, thus backing me to do an MBA. While I was studying there, Idea bridged the gap between me and my parents, thus helping me fight loneliness.
Thus, as I mentioned earlier, ABG became a close companion of me and influenced me throughout my life. This shows how big a role ABG played in my life.
As far as overcoming challenges is concerned, I had a history of rejections right from my childhood. Rejection in friendships, sports, and it continued so on until the MBA rejections. I was always pretty much pondering about the lost opportunities and was unable to find a solution to these. I kept my present and future at stake while cursing my past. It was really hard to overcome the rejections which seemed like never-ending.
One day, I thought enough is enough and I decided to gaze my life in a positive manner. That single decision changed my entire course towards happiness and satisfaction. I started to look for positives in every rejection and this taught me the lesson of my life. Through this process, I am improving myself with the feedback I receive during these experiences. The learning which I got from this life experience is that we should never lose hope, otherwise we will end up in the deepest abyss of sorrow and sorry. One should never give up and fight until we achieve what we aspire to. Finally, due to my continuous passionate efforts, I converted a premier MBA college of the country in the form of XIM, Bhubaneswar.
I am proud enough to tell my story of the fight against adversities to help others to tackle their own. I improved myself from being an introvert in school to being a blatant extrovert in my MBA journey. Life has something or the other in store for us which will bring us gratification and bliss.
