With a wise vision of contributing to the society and sustainable development of the people, Aditya Birla Group was fathered by Shri Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857. Since the day it has grown to such an extent that there is barely a sector where one has had to toil hard to find its footprint. Be it agri-business(Indo Gulf), financial services(Aditya Birla Capital Itd.), telecom(Vodafone and Idea limited), metal industry(Hindalco, Novelis, and Birla Copper), carbon black, chemicals, insulator, cement(Ultratech), mining(ESSEL mining) or fashion and retail(ABFRL) everywhere its presence can easily be felt. With having its operations in 35 countries with more than 120000 employees across 5 continents it is considered as of the leading private conglomerate of India.

For me, it's not just a brand rather an emotion. An emotion that I have experienced in every moment of my life since the day I took my first breath. I am connected to Aditya Birla Group through my father who is an employee of one of its manufacturing company. So, I have been quite fortunate to grow up with the values of this group. One of the things that I admire it for, it always prioritizes CSR activities equal to its corporate functionalities. Under the aegis of Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development with Mrs. Rajashree Birla as the Chairperson, and admirably supported by Dr. Pragnya Ram, Group Executive President, Group Head – CSR, Legacy Documentation & Archives it has carried out many social activities such as treatment of 70 million polio-affected children, installation of 50 Reverse Osmosis Plants to provide drinking water to rural people, and treatment of blind people in collaboration with Vision Foundation of India. Its contribution to society is not only limited to the health, water, and sanitation sector but also in the sector of education and girl child and women empowerment it can easily be witnessed. The story of Devi, a rural woman who joined Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail’s Madura unit 20 years ago as a trainee and today has turned into an entrepreneur and is the proud manager of her manufacturing unit, is an inspiration for all the rural women of India.

Aditya Birla Group is truly dedicated to the holistic development of society.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far.

“If four things are followed - having a great aim, acquiring knowledge, hard work, and perseverance - then anything can be achieved.”- A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the soul, I truly admire and am inspired by a lot. He was one of those personalities who started their journey from nowhere and became a global icon because of their great contribution to mankind.

Like many other students, I too joined an IT company after completing my graduation in the non-IT discipline. Before getting into that company I was quite fascinated about it for multiple reasons. MBA was always in my mind, so I reckoned it would be a cakewalk that there I would get an ample amount of leisure time to prepare for the management entrance exams. But the reality turned out opposite to my expectations. I was allocated to a project where my shift schedule would change in everyday two days and depending upon the client's requirement, I had to extend my shift hours. In such a hectic schedule it became quite tough for me to manage MBA preparation along with work. Due to some inevitable circumstances, it was not possible for me to quit the job and I also didn't want to let work pressure be the reason of my failure. So, I strategized everything as per my shift schedule and started making short term goals that I could accomplish in that time frame. In the beginning, it was not easy, but I was determined. Eventually, everything settled down. I was able to perform extremely well at work and received many appreciations for all my hard work and in the end, converted XIMB.
