One of the most loved fashion retail brand of the country, Pantaloons, a division of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, was voted as “India’s Most Trusted Apparel Retail Brand” (Brand Equity Survey 2014-15) . It has revolutionized the way in which the middle income group of the country is choosing what they wear. Being a kid of the late 90’s, this brand has also played an important role in my life. I have fond memories of me going to the outlets of the fashion retail giant to spend quality time shopping with my friends and discussing the latest fashion trends across various categories like ethic wear, party wear etc. The brand has been a part of me in many occasions ranging from festivals, holidays, birthdays to trying out my first ever formal dress from Van Heusen; many of my cherished experiences have been associated with the brand. What inspires me the most is that it encompasses the needs of varied consumers under a single umbrella. The company’s tie ups with various local and international brands as well as its range of in-house brands gives me a bucket of options to choose from. Pantaloons is not just a retail brand but an emotion that crops up in my mind when I think about shopping. It gives me the best platform to decide the way I portray myself to the outside world by means of the clothes that I choose to wear and gives me confidence in myself that I can face the challenges of life.
Overcoming challenges and moving towards a brighter future
When I graduated I had planned to give a competitive exam. However, the exam did not go as expected and I felt stuck. Neither did I have a job in hand nor did I have an admission letter. It was a moment of chaos and uncertainty as I felt confused as to what my career path would be. However, the one thing that I knew for certain was that I wanted to get into one of the leading colleges of the country. Due to my poor performance in the exam, I developed a fear of failure. However, after a lot of thought and persuasion I gave another try. This time I believed in myself and prepared myself to give an attempt with a positive mind set. I was also fortunate enough to a have a great support system in the form of my friends and family who made sure that I did not have any difficulties whatsoever. They encouraged me to work hard and believed in me. This gave me immense confidence and I went with a smile on the D-Day of the exam. Few months later I successfully converted the college of my choice. This made me realise that perseverance and hard work pays off and as said by Confucius, “Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail”. I learnt that failure is not an exception but a part of success and in moments of failure one must always stay positive and have faith and confidence in oneself.
