Aditya Birla Group founded my Seth Shiv Narayan Birla is a conglomerate that cannot leave anybody's life untouched. It spread over 34 countries and employs over 150,000 people belonging to over 42 nationalities. From a person with limited means to a person who has plenty, Aditya Birla Group touches everyone’s life. Even I am no exception to this, and there are lots of products that I use in my day to day life. Starting with packing my lunch for school using a fresh wrap to better living, Aditya Birla Group is connected.
Aditya Birla Group provides promising fashion sense to everyone. Be it our college-going look or a corporate look; this company manages both at ease. This company not only gives a promising fashion sense, but its price segmentation under various brands is just breath-taking. No wonder Indians have trust in Peter England, Louis Phillipe, Pantaloons and many more. It’s difficult to find formal apparels for female, but here, under Van Heusen and many more, it is doing its part very well. It has its reach over the various domains. It’s a contribution to the telecom sector won over lakhs of hearts, including mine. With 1,850 MHz of total spectrum holding, over 200,000 unique GSM sites and 235,000 km of fiber, the company offers superior voice and broadband connectivity across India, covering 92 percent of the population and reaching nearly 500,000 towns and villages. It has been providing quick diagnostic tests with quality results at approximately one-tenth of the market cost. Apart from all this, it didn’t stop it from CSR activities as well. They have reached at extreme heights in it as well. Be it building a house with four bedrooms and two bathrooms using proceeds from recycled aluminum bottles and cans to supporting women and children in becoming solar entrepreneurs, Aditya Birla Group has made a deep impact in my heart. This is how big Aditya Birla is, touching almost every soul.
PART B: What odds and challenges you faced to achieve your ambitions and how you overcame it?
Six years back, I faced the greatest hurdle of my life. My father was under diagnosis for chronic kidney disease since 2011. I have seen extreme low points in my family since then. Financially as well as emotionally. This was the most challenging situation, and it changed my whole world. Being born and brought up in a nuclear family, it was only my mother, my sister and me. Also, my sister didn’t stay at home due to her studies outside our hometown, which left me alone with my mother. 15-year-old me was lost at that moment. It was then upon me to keep my mother safe from all obstacles and hurdles coming our way. I had my boards in the upcoming year, and I wanted to make my mother happy. And nothing gives more happiness to an Indian mother than seeing their wards do good. I did all that I could to make her happy. It was a very difficult time for me. I was battling with my emotions, along with maintaining the decorum of the house. Keeping myself very busy to not giving too much time to attend my emotions helped me to stay strong and attend to the needs of my family.
One of the many things that I’ve learned from this situation is "Action before emotion," that is, there will be time for emotion but what needs to be done, has to be done right away. There were many chores that need to be done right away without any delay, and there are no excuses for it. The next thing that I learned, rather rectified about myself is, "procrastination." Previously I used to procrastinate things a lot. But this situation, dawned on me a sudden sense of responsibility and I no longer postpone things, and instead, I do them right away. I’ve been very punctual ever since then. Punctuality is the key to everything, definitely helps me a lot in many ways.
